Chapter 27

I ran away from Seth into the woods, with Nessi trailing behind me. I didn't want to see him. That cheating, lying, scheming bastard made me cry. No one has ever made me cry. Ever, but so loved him. I loved him so much. I gave him everything, my heart, my soul, my body, everything. And some slutty girl with some slutty name took that away from me. My vision blurred as I continued to run, the tears blinding me.

"Bree!" Renesmee called out, "It was a misunderstanding! She kissed him, remember? You were there." I didn't want to listen. I didn't want to rationalize. I didn't care who kissed who, the point being he cheated on me and that's all I needed to know. We were close to the house and I started wiping away my tears. I didn't want my family to see. I tried to calm down my breathing as I walked into the house. I covered my thoughts so Edward wouldn't know.

"Where have you two been?!" Carlisle yelled. I couldn't help it, I broke down crying. Renesmee caught me as I fell to the floor.

"Carlisle!" Esme punched him on the shoulder. Esme looked at me with a worried expression.

"I didn't do anything." Carlisle defended and then saw me crying.

"Bree honey, are you ok? I didn't mean to yell at you, I'm sorry." He looked saddened. "Please stop crying." But I couldn't stop. Emmett and Jasper ran downstairs to see who was crying and they saw me, on the floor with my hands covering my face.

"What happened?" Emmett asked.

"We don't know. She just started crying out of nowhere." Esme responded. Jasper out his hands on my back.

"Calm down Bree, your gonna be fine. Tell us what's wrong." I tried, but I couldn't get the words out. I was sobbing uncontrollably and Renesmee was trying to comfort me. I could feel Jasper using his powers, trying to calm me, but I just cried more because he cared too much.

Emmett cradled me in his arms and carried me to my room, just as Riley came downstairs.

"What's wrong with Bree?" He asked worried.

"We don't know. Your sister just flipped out." Carlisle said. Flipped out? I'd never heard him say that before. The tears kept flowing down my cheeks. Seth... Why? Carlisle, Esme, Riley, Jasper and Renesmee followed behind Emmett as he set me down on my bed in my room. I looked up at him and he tried to smile, but he was concerned and it didn't work. I looked at myself from the mirror across the room. My hair was messy, my eyes had clear lines coming from it, my nose was red and so were my eyes. I looked disgusting.

"Riley, go make your sister a plate of food from downstairs." Esme said motherly. Riley nodded and ran downstairs to get me food. I put my head in between my legs and my hands over my face. I just wanted to be alone. Renesmee sat next to me and wrapped her arms around my shoulder.

"Feel better sis." She whispered. Thank you, I thought, but didn't say. She started rubbing my back. Emmett started stroking my hair.

"Jasper, are you trying to make her calm down? We need her to tell us what's wrong." Carlisle said.

"I'm trying, but it only seems to make her worse." Jasper said. He turned to me. "Bree," he said in a soothing voice, "tell us what's wrong. Why are you crying?" I didn't want to answer. I didn't want to say it, but if I didn't I'd explode. Riley came back upstairs with chicken and rice on a plate and green beans. Esme motioned him to wait.

"Is it school?" Emmett asked. I shook my head no.

"Is it your room or this house?" Carlisle asked. I shook my head, no.

"Is it us?" Jasper asked. No.

"Is it the food?" Esme asked. I almost laughed, no. Everybody paused for a minute, thinking.
