Chapter 23

Me and Jacob rode off quickly toward the Quileute Reservation. He slowed down as we passed the line between vampires and werewolves, my family and my love. We couldn't stay separate, we just couldn't. I was disobeying my father, but that didn't make me love him any less. I loved my family and I didn't want to hurt them. But I couldn't let go of my new family. Riley, Seth, Liliila, Bree and Jacob. We changed together, we learned together and we loved together. There was no stopping us.

Jacob sped down the highway faster than a speeding bullet. He was dangerous, agile, yet somehow gentle. She wasn't in any danger of getting hurt if he changed or got angry, he wouldn't hurt her. He sees to much for her. We arrived at Jacob's house while the sun was still high in the sky. He parked the motorcycle in his garage. I got off his bike and took of his helmet. I shook out my hair and looked up to see him doing the same. He smiled at me.

"Your beautiful Renesmee."

"Your kinda beautiful too." Jacob laughed without humor, but I meant it. He had small eyes, bow shaped lips, beautiful bronze skin, and dark messy hair. He was beautiful. His black eyes seemed to stare at her for a while. He leaned down and kissed her cheek. She pulled her arms around his shoulders, and he grabbed her thighs, picked her up, and swung her around. Jacob began kissing her on the mouth, neck, and chest. She was giggling uncontrollably as his movements tickled her skin, and he smiled into her hair as he set her down.

He grabbed my hand and he pulled me toward his house. It was a small thing, with red-brown bricks building it up from the bottom and white strips at the top. In front of the house was a wheelchair ramp, which confused me. Why would he need a wheelchair ramp? He didn't bother to explain, so I didn't ask. We walked up the ramp and in to the house.

He pulled me toward the couch of his small living room. It was a warm, brownish color, with a lamp, and a TV, and simple little things. It wasn't my extravagant living room with a flat screen and a mahogany coffee table, but I loved it. It was comfy and that's all I needed.

"Wanna watch a movie?" Jacob asked suddenly.

"Um, sure. What do you wanna watch?"

"I have Titanic. Not to be feminine, but I have a weakness for love stories with tragic endings."

"Don't spoil the ending idiot!" He laughed at me.

"Have you never seen Titanic?" He got up and put the movie into the VCR.

"I-I may have skimmed it."

"You skimmed it?"

"I don't like tragic stories. I stopped watching it after they fell in love. I couldn't take anymore." He smirked.

"We'll I'm here now. So you won't be alone while you watch it." He pauses. "It is tragic, but isn't that life? Sometimes it's tragic." He looked off into space. No, not into space, at a picture. It was a woman, with curly brown hair and gorgeous black eyes. She had refined cheekbones and bow shaped lips, just like Jacob.

"Is that your mother?" I asked. I didn't want to upset him. A few minutes later he whispered the answer.

"A car accident. She died in a car accident." He seemed upset now. He wasn't crying or anything emotionally. He was thinking, and thinking hard. His mother. She has always been there for him. He remembered the funeral, the sorry voices from people who neither have a damn or knew her. It made Jacob angry all over again. His hands began shaking and Renesmee looked over at them. She grabbed one of his hands and used all her vampire strength to stop the shaking. He turned around to look at her, his black pearls fierce, then calm. He took a deep breathe and realized what could have happened there, what he was two seconds away from becoming.

He jumped up and tried to get away from Renesmee. He was gonna hurt her, and he didn't want that to happen.

"Jake!" She ran after him.

"Get away from me." Renesmee was confused. First, he loves her, and now he was mad.

"Jacob, what's wrong?" She put her hand on his shoulder. He shook it off wildly.

"Don't touch me." Jacob took off running outside. She ran after him. Renesmee was angry now. She took off at vampire speed and caught up with him quickly. She swing him around with all her might.

"What the hell? What's wrong with you?" She demanded.

"You need to get away from me." He pleaded. "Now!" Jacob was sweating. His face was intense and he was shaking more now. Renesmee didn't know what to do, but all she did was grab his shoulders so he looked at her, right in the eyes. She moved her lips to his and waited for his heart beat to slow. Jacob stopped shaking an fell into the kiss. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. Renesmee pulled away and looked at his pearls. He couldn't believe he had yelled at her. He instantly felt guilty and began caressing her face. His hand glided across her silky, pale skin. He brushed her red-hair out of her face and almost cried at the sympathy from her brown eyes. This time, she grabbed his hand, and slowly moved him toward the house. She walked, one step at a time, leading his lifeless, sorrowful body. There were years in his eyes and he looked at her blankly, but she kept in walking. She had to save him.

She softly pushed the door open and led him to the couch. His watery eyes wandered all around the room as the red head sat him on the couch. She moved her fingers through his tousled brown hair and never stopped staring into his pearls. She pulled his head onto her chest and kissed his head. Renesmee didn't want to be anywhere else. This was her home.
