Chapter 6

When I got to English class, everyone was already in their seats, including my niece, Liliila. Yes, I have a niece. We were both the same age since my mother decided to have another baby at such a late age. She waved hi to me as I walked in.

"Please get to your seat Mr..." An old burly man stood up and put down his newspaper as if to chastise me. He wore a white button-up shirt, black slacks and a gut.

"Oh. Clearwater sir. I'm new here."

"Oh right." He turned to the class. "Today, class we have a new student. His name is Seth Clearwater. I hope you all give him a warm welcome." The class began to murmur with information on the new kid. He was obviously related to Liliila Clearwater, one of the prettiest girls in the class. His father died last year in a hunting accident and now he was forced to change schools against his will. Rumors spread fast around Forks. Like a wildfire it was. He took an empty seat next to the window at the back of the class. All the desks in the class were made for two people and I was sitting alone in one of them.

Just then, a girl with blonde curls came running into the classroom.

"Am I late?" She asked, almost lazily, like she didn't care.

"Yes, Ms. Cullen, you are in fact late," the teacher said with a sigh, "Take a seat please." The blonde girl looked around, her bright blue eyes scoured the room. She looked at Liliila who mouthed "Sorry" as she was sitting next to a cheerleader named Sarah. Great, her eyes seemed to say. Seth recognized this girl. She had come to the reservation millions of times before with Liliila. Her name was Bree. She was as tall as Liliila, had long blonde curls, bright blue eyes, and a curvy physique. She was wearing long black leggings, a white t-shirt and a blue jean jacket. Her eyes weren't particularly nice, but man.. was she gorgeous. A couple of guys in class tried to knock each other out of their seats. They wanted to sit next to her. She rolled her eyes. By looks, she could be the girl who smacks a geek's books on the floor and laughs evily without giving it a second thought, but her eyes seemed to say "I don't fit in here and I don't want to."

Join the club.

The only available seat where the guys weren't acting like animals, was next to me.

"Ms. Cullen. I said please take a seat." Reluctantly, she walked over to the seat beside me. She didn't look at me, but I couldn't stop looking at her. I turned away when she glanced at me. She took out her notebook and sighed.

Class had begun.
