*One Year Later*

~Zahara~

I concluded Alpha training a few months ago. I feel Lennox and I learned a lot over the two years. I'm 20 years old now and will be 21 in three months. I will officially take over the pack from my father when I turn 21. He and I agreed to wait because he isn't inasmuch of a rush and wanted me to feel comfortable. He would feel better if I were taking over with my mate, but I haven't met him yet. I have been taking classes online the past two years, but I still have a way to go. I'm studying Psychology. I feel that would be useful as an Alpha. I will have to deal with other packs as well as rogues and it would be helpful if I can gain insight into other mindsets.

We have been called to the Wild Tail Pack and I have no desire to go. It will be my dad, his Beta Simeon, myself, and my future Beta Lennox. The new Alpha of Wild Tail specifically asked for us to visit and dad is thinking that he and I may be able to come up with an alliance. Our packlands are next to each other with a patch of neutral land in the middle. It will take us an hour to get there even though we are, essentially, next door neighbors.

I know the new Alpha is Laslo and I remember him from school. He always gave me an off feeling and I'm not looking forward to seeing him again. I tried to get dad to turn him down, but he wouldn't. I don't want to attract too much attention with my outfit, but I have an obligation to dress appropriately. I decide on a light blue, pencil skirt dress that stops at my calves. It has short sleeves and a square cut top. I pair it with some closed toe, white wedges. I have my box braids into a sleek bun and I keep my makeup minimal.

I head downstairs to find everyone waiting on me. I have to admit that I've been dragging my feet the entire morning because I truly don't want to make this trip. I wish I could avoid it all together. I keep reminding myself that, as Alpha, I will probably have meetings I don't want to take, but will have to do it anyway. "Ah, finally, my daughter has arrived and we can go." I step off of the stairs and head towards the front door.

"Dad, I truly don't want to do this. Laslo has always rubbed me the wrong way." Lennox and Simeon head outside to the cars that are waiting. My dad walks up to me and gives me a hug. "What if he wants to mate with me? I know I haven't found my mate, but I don't want just anyone." My dad pushes me back a bit so he can look in my eyes.

"Oh daughter of mine," he says, stroking my cheek. "You are a beautiful girl and I know that many men will be interested. I know how important your Goddess given mate is to you and I would never try to take that from you. We will go to this meeting and hope for the best. If nothing else, maybe you can get an alliance out of it. You will not be alone at any time if that is what you want." I sigh and nod my head. I know there is no way around it no matter how badly I wish there were. "I love you bean." I smile at my dad using my childhood nickname.

"I love you too dad." We head outside to load up into the SUVs to be on our way. I sit in the car with Lennox while my dad rides in the SUV in front of us with Simeon.

"You know I have your back right?" Lennox has my hand in his and his head on my shoulder.

"I know love. I appreciate you. I just hate to see Laslo. He always made me feel uneasy in school." Lennox sighs.

"I know we never found out who attacked you and tried to.....you know. Could that be part of your unease?" That event left a mark on me for sure. I have spent the time since training harder than some of my warriors and attending therapy. All of my training made me the talk of Alpha training. I was able to take down some of the future Alphas which shocked everyone. I promised myself that I would never be that vulnerable again.

"No, Laslo has always made me uncomfortable." Lennox nods and gets comfortable against my shoulder. We spend the hour trip to Wild Trail in a comfortable silence. As we get closer to the gates, Aria starts to stir in my mind. She is getting anxious and starting to fidget.

What's up Aria? Is everything ok?

I'm not sure. I feel something, but I don't know what.

I hope it isn't danger that Aria is sensing. The last thing I want to have to do is get into a physical altercation while I'm visiting someone else's packlands. We drive through the gates and pull up in front of the packhouse. It is a bit smaller than the one we have, but it looks to be in good condition. I see a few people standing and waiting for us to get out of the SUVs. One is definitely Laslo and he seems to be trying to look into the windows of the vehicles. His efforts are in vain because we have some serious tint going on. The warrior gets out of the passenger side of the SUV and opens my door. I take a deep breath and exit the vehicle with Lennox right behind me.

I've been anxious all day. I invited the ranked wolves from the Ash Band pack to my lands under the guise of a possible alliance. I really just want to get Zahara here so I can talk her into being my chosen mate. I have wanted her since I saw her in school and I can finally get her. I made sure everything was ready; good food and the packhouse completely clean. I made sure the landscaping was done and everything. I wanted everything to be perfect.

I cut my hair after Alpha training so now I have it longer on top and tapered in the back. My waves are still prominent. I have a dark blue suit on with a white button up shirt. I skip the tie and have 2 buttons unbuttoned on my top. My goal is to make Zahara want me with everything she has in her. I head outside to wait for my guests along with my mom, my sister Flora, and Beta Cyrus. I haven't chosen my Beta and Gamma yet so I'm still working with those that worked with my stepfather.

I'm anxiously waiting for the SUVs to pull in so I can see Zahara. It has been a year since I put eyes on her and I'm beyond ready. I can't wait to have her in my home and, if everything works out, she won't be leaving. The SUVs stop in front of the packhouse and I crane my neck trying to catch a look inside. The windows are heavily tinted so I can't see anything. The doors open to both SUVs and two men get out of the first one. I turn to the second open door and see sexy, mocha brown legs swing out. She's here and I can barely contain myself.

Our Luna is here!

I know Nero. She is as beautiful as I remember.

Zahara gets out of the vehicle and stands to the side. I see that guy, Lennox, get out after her. Zahara and Lennox fall in step behind the other two men and walk up to our waiting group. Before I can step forward, my mom does and starts to shake people's hands. "We are so glad to have you here! I'm the Luna of the pack, Margaret Hastings. This is my daughter, Flora Williams. The Beta here, Cyrus Franks and my son, Alpha Laslo Hastings." Mother points to everyone as she introduces them.

"It's nice to meet all of you and thank you for the invitation. I'm Alpha Byron Peters. This is my Beta, Simeon Brooks. His son, future Beta Lennox Brooks and our future Alpha, my daughter, Zahara Peters." I catch Zahara's eyes and try to convey to her how happy I am to have her here. She only holds my gaze for a minute before looking away. I guess she is playing hard to get.

"Well, let's head inside and we can have lunch," my mother says and we turn to lead the way. I hang back a bit so I can catch Zahara alone, but my plan doesn't work because she anchors herself to Lennox and they walk inside. I walk behind them and am graced with Zahara's backside. She is visibly muscular and she has ass for days. I'm no longer mad at not being able to walk with her because I'm enjoying watching her walk in front of me. Hopefully this meal is over soon so I can talk to Zahara and get her to be mine.
