Elder Langston had his people take away Margaret and Gunner. He had them get rid of Laslo's body. There were some wet eyes among the members and a lot of distrusting looks thrown toward Cory. I understand that years-long misinformation can't be fixed in a matter of minutes, but at some point, they will have to let certain things go.

I stay near the stage in case anyone had any questions, but no one is approaching me. Cory is off speaking with Elder Langston while his people take care of the cleanup. This entire situation has been crazy but necessary in the end. There is no way that Cory and I could enjoy our future with any of this hanging over our heads. I hate that Cory had to lose so much, but I will be sure to try to make up for it for the rest of our lives.

I notice Lennox sitting in a chair, leaning back, looking up at the sky. He has been quiet since we returned, and I'm not sure what's going on. I should probably talk to him, but before I can make it over, I watch Lennox get up and head into the packhouse. I look around me and see pack members walking away from the area. There is no need to stay here, so I decide to head to the packhouse myself.

Hey, babe. I'm going to go inside. It doesn't seem like anyone is trying to talk.

Alright, I will be inside when I finish here. You and I are past due some time together. I chuckle at this. Cory isn't wrong. We should have been getting acquainted since he rescued me at the caves. We have had to put off our reunion again and again. We are both in need of some reconnecting.

I walk into the packhouse and walk through the dining area and kitchen. A voice captures my attention, and I hang back to hear what's being said. "Don't come any closer! I won't be caught up in this again. I don't want this!" The voice disappears, and I hear a heavy sigh.

I wait a few moments before walking into the hallway from the kitchen, but I don't see anything. I keep walking toward the front of the house. There is a sitting room, and I take a quick peek inside.

I notice Lennox sitting in an armchair with a glass in his hand. The glass is filled with a brown liquid. Lennox looks pretty beat up and completely in despair. I don't think I've ever seen Lennox like this before. I walk into the room and sit in an armchair next to Lennox, but I say nothing. We sit like this for a long while, sitting in silence.

"Wanna talk about it?" I don't speak loudly, wanting to keep this just between us.

"I......I......" Lennox sighs and takes another sip of his drink.

"I heard some type of argument. Were you involved?" Lennox says nothing, but his breathing quickens a bit. "Who were you arguing with?" There are a few moments of silence before I hear a soft sob. I lean forward and look at Lennox to see tears rolling down his face. Lennox is sobbing, and I've very seen him like this before. "What is it Lennox?"

"She is so very beautiful." Lennox sniffles and takes another sip. "She is more amazing than I could have imagined. I know she thinks I don't understand, but I do. I completely understand what has happened. I won't hurt her." Lennox turns to me, fresh tears falling down his face. "I swear to you, Z, I would never, ever hurt her. I could never hurt her. I just want her close to me; I want her to be happy. I want to help ease her pain."

I look at Lennox and can see the pain and sadness in his eyes. After a while, it clicks. Oh, Goddess, I never would have imagined this one. I reach my hand out and place it on Lennox's. He doesn't move, but he continues to sob softly.

"Lennox, you are such a good man. You went from a good boy to a good man. I want you to be happy." I start to rub my finger in a circular motion on the back of his hand. "She needs time Lennox. She needs to believe in the mate bond again. What happened to her......it was brutal and she needs to know that nothing like that could happen again." I tug on Lennox's hand to get his attention. He slowly turns his head to face me. "Give her time Lennox. If you want her....you have to give her time."

Lennox closes his hand around mine and nods his head. He sobs softly, and I sit with him, hoping that my presence gives him some sort of relief. I'm not sure how long we are there, but a throat clearing breaks up the silence. I turn to the doorway and see Cory standing there. Lennox lets my hand go and wipes his face. He stands and walks out of the room, nodding at Cory as he passes him.

Cory takes Lennox's vacant seat. "Do I want to know what that's about?"

"Maybe, but not right now. I'm sure it will all work out." I grab Cory's hand. "Is everything taken care of?"

"Yes, everything is fine. Elder Langston left with his people and prisoners. Laslo's body has been disposed of. Cyrus will stay here with Bryn, and we can go back home. We need to make plans on how to bring the two packs together." I pat Cory's hand and smile at him.

"You know everything will work out, right? You are amazing, and you handled everything like the true Alpha you are. You saved Nona and me. We will run these packs together." Cory looks at me with love; then his eyes turn black.

"Do you know how much I've missed you? I think we need to get acquainted." I'm swept out of the chair and into Cory's arms before I can answer. We head upstairs to learn each other again. This has been a crazy ride, but I would do it all over again if I get to end up with Cory. I get to spend the rest of my life with this amazing man, and I simply can't wait.
