~Zahara~
Laslo left the room quickly, and that propelled me to try to get out of these restraints. I have to get myself free before Laslo comes back, or I'm sure that he will try to finish what he started. I don't know how long he'll be gone, so time is of the essence.
I twist and pull, trying my hardest to loosen up the ropes around my wrists. These ropes seem to be expertly tied. The ropes are as tight as when I first got there. Damn, I wish I had Aria right now. I could be out of this quickly by just extending a claw and slashing the ropes. I shake that thought out of my head and focus on the task at hand.
The hallways are filled with the sounds of people crying and screaming. I want to know who's attacking. Maybe it's actually my pack; if it is, I know I will be out of here soon. If it isn't my pack, I need to get free, so I can defend myself if needed, but these damn ropes won't budge. GRRRRRRR!
I can hear screams, 'stop,' 'leave us alone,' etc. I know whatever is going on right now, it's getting closer to where I'm being held. I have to hurry up and figure something out.
I can hear snarling and some barking. I can't see anything, but I can feel everything going on. My mind drifts to Nona. I have no idea where she is being held or in what condition. I know that I have to get to her and get her to a safer environment.
I hear snarling right outside this room. I tense up, trying to figure out the best way to defend myself even though I'm still tied up. I crouch into a defensive stance, figuring I can use my head and attack if needed.
I can see black paws make their way across the room's opening. The snarling is definitely coming from those paws. The fur is chocolate brown, making me think: chocolate brown fur and black paws like socks. My eye widens with the revelation just as the wolf appears in the doorway. "Lennox!"
Lennox immediately shifts into his human self. He runs to me and engulfs me in a bear hug. I swear I've missed him like crazy. He pushes me back and takes a look at me, growling in anger when he notices my dress falling down my sides. "I'm fine."
"Fine?! Look at you....what did he do?!" I maneuver my head until I catch his eye.
"Lennox, I'm fine! I just need you to untie me," I say, holding my bound wrists behind my back to show him.
"Shit, I'm sorry." Lennox rushes to unbound my hands, and I rub my wrists as soon as he does. I rip the rest of my dress off, just donning my slip. We start to walk toward the opening that leads to the hallway. "Let's get you out of here."
"No."
"NO?! What the hell do you mean, no? I have to get you out of here; that's the entire point." I let my aura rip through the room, and Lennox quickly drops his head under the strain. I pull my aura back in.
"I'm sorry, but I need you to hear me. We need to get Nona out of here with us." Lennox looks at me with questioning eyes.
"Who's Nona?"
"Laslo's mate." I proceed to head down the halls, trying to sniff her out.
~Lennox~
Laslo has a mate?! What the absolute hell? If he has a mate, why did he kidnap Zahara with the intent of mating with her? This is extremely confusing, and I can't wait to sit down with Zahara to get the entire story.
I follow Zahara, and she uses her nose to sniff this Nona out. We move through the hallway, and Zahara goes into a room. I peer in and see a redhead lying on a mat. She looks up at Zahara when Zahara shakes her shoulder. She is beautiful, maybe the most beautiful woman I've seen. Her emerald green eyes are captivating, and I feel my breath get caught in my throat.
"Z.....Zahara? Wh.....what are you doing here?"
"I've come to get you. We need to go. My pack is here, and it's time to leave." Nona's face brightens, and she rises from the mat. She looks around the room once, then places her hand in Zahara's outstretched hand, and I follow them out of the room.
There is something about this woman, this Nona. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm intrigued. I think Kieran is intrigued too. He seems to have stalled in my head, concentrating on this woman. Right now isn't the time to worry about it, though.
When we get close to the mouth of the cave, I hop in front of the ladies. I lead them out of the cave and to the open space in front. There are people standing around in wolf form and human form. They are all watching two wolves going at it. One is clearly bigger than the other, and they are fighting with everything they have. I focus a bit more and notice that one of the wolves is Sylas; he has to be fighting Laslo.
Sylas is a huge gray wolf, bigger than Laslo's white wolf. Laslo's wolf is swiping at Sylas, and his claws connect here and there. Sylas twists his body and kicks Laslo's wolf, sending it flying into a tree. Laslo's wolf lays at the base of the tree, sprawled out. Sylas marches to the tree base and hovers over Laslo's wolf, snarling and biting. His jaw reaches over and grabs at the white wolf's neck.
"NO! SYLAS, STOP!!!" Zahara's voice rings out in the night air. Some of those who came with us have their mouths open in shock at her request. Sylas places a paw on the neck of the white wolf and turns his head toward Zahara. "Please! Don't do it, Sylas."
