*One Year Later*
~Laslo~
This year at Alpha training has been tough but rewarding. Well rewarding in terms of beautiful women. There are daughters of Alphas here that are doing their Luna training. I have been able to sample some of the new prospects. I haven't found my mate yet and I'm enjoying the unchained life. I have also met a few future Alpha's that may be good to have an alliance with in the future, but I'm in no rush. I don't exactly play well with others.
We just finished a day full of combat training and it was tough. We are in the dining hall, enjoying dinner. "Hey, did you guys hear about next week?" I look up and notice Jesse sitting down at the table. He is a decent guy, but is only a back up with his older brother being the future Alpha. He said his parents wanted him to get the training during the summer just to have something under his belt. He just finished his junior year of high school and has started his summer training.
"What's going on next week?" Jesse looks at me and smirks.
"The training school on the South end is coming here. It is going to be a competition of sorts." That sounds interesting. That would mean that there should be some fresh meat to sample. I have no issue with sleeping around, but it hasn't been as easy as in the past. Truth be told, I end up having to picture Zahara at times to get to 'that point'. No one has measured up to her and I haven't even had the pleasure. I don't mind having not met my mate because I have decided on Zahara.
"Why are they coming here anyway?" There is a training school in the south as well as one in the west. Since my pack is along those borders, I am at the one in the west. There are many packs in the area and we, sometimes, get together all at once. Those times are few and far between.
"They say it's something that they do every other year. They alternate the location and it just so happens that this is the next year and we are the location. It seems pretty interesting. We get to get to know other pack leaders and the competition gives bragging rights." I guess this is something to look forward to
*The Next Week*
"Alright everyone, let's welcome the future leaders from the Southern training camp. We will start the games in two hours. Everyone, make sure you are ready to compete."
The announcement was made and everyone set out to meet who they could meet. I decide to take my time and stroll through the crowd. I see some potential ladies that I can see for a good time. I'm catching the eye of different women here and there and I'm not hating it. I continue to stroll through the crowd trying to decide who I want that night.
Time passes quickly and we are getting ready for the competition. It will be hand to hand combat with no shifting and no weapons. The Betas will go against each other and the Alphas will go against each other. The future Lunas will be more like spectators than fighters. Each win will result in points for each side.
As the competition continues on, we hear talk about a particular female who is killing it. She has won a few matches already and one of them has been against a guy. We are all interested in seeing who this badass is and we head over during our short break. "Damn, look at her! She is hot as hell!" Jesse practically has his tongue hanging out of his mouth. I haven't laid eyes on her yet because the guys are blocking my view. I can hear the sounds of a fight and the crowd is going crazy. I push through the crowd and take a peak. My heart skips a beat and my breath is caught in my throat. I swear that girl looks just like Zahara.
"Who is that?" A man I don't recognize turns to me and smirks.
"That is Zahara Peters, future Alpha to the Ash Band pack. She is a total badass and a frigid ice queen. But she is fine as hell," he chuckles. It takes everything I have to hold in my growl. I don't like other men looking at her. I wasn't sure I'd ever see Zahara again. I planned to use my resources as Alpha to find her, though I didn't expect to find out she is an Alpha. That would make things a bit more difficult, but I can figure something out. Wait.....Ash Band......
That is the pack next to ours to the East.
That's right, Nero. I remember mom talking about that pack.
We have no contact with that pack, but they are next to us. There is a section of neutral land between us and we rarely do any business with this pack. When we join together, I will be able to combine the two packs and be Alpha to both. This is looking better and better. I want to wait for her match to finish so we can talk, but I'm getting called to my match. I leave with the plan to approach Zahara when all of this is over.
The tournament concludes and the west has won. We shower and meet out back for a celebratory barbeque. I make sure I look my best so I can approach Zahara. I'm a bit nervous because I haven't seen her since high school, but I'm determined to get her to get on board. I head out to the back area and see a huge crowd of people. Some are in the food area. There are tables of sides and desserts. There is a whole pig in a pit along with burgers, hot dogs, ribs, and kebabs. Some guests are on the dance floor where we have a D.J. Many of the guests are mingling with each other. You can tell who is looking to hook up and who are trying to make alliances for the future. I'm searching each area for Zahara, but keep coming up empty. I run into Jesse and he is mingling with a mixed group. "Hey, have you seen that girl around here? The badass?"
"Uh, no. Actually, I saw her leave right after her matches. I was waiting around hoping to introduce myself, but she hopped in a car and took off." FUCK! How the hell did that opportunity get away from me? Thankfully, I now know where to find her. Once I'm done training and take over my pack, I will send for her. I'm sure it won't be hard to get her to agree to be my chosen.
