~Frankie~
I make my way through the woods to the shack we have dubbed our spot. I have been trying to text, call, and mind-link Justin for a while now, but I haven't been able to reach him. I'm beyond pissed off. He better not have gone soft and ruined this for me.
Len will be coming later. I left him to tie up some loose ends and make sure that this doesn't fall back on us. I finally make it to the shack and notice there is a light on inside. I take a deep breath at the door before walking in, hoping that I see what I want to see.
I open the door slowly and see Justin sitting at the table. I scan the room and notice a lump on the floor over by the far wall. I slowly walk through the door, closing it behind me. Justin looks up at me but doesn't speak. I make my way over to the lump, and a smile breaks out on my face when I realize that it's Cory. Justin came through, and I'm actually surprised. If I'm honest, Justin is the weak link in the group. I walk back over to the table that Justin is at and have a seat across from him.
"Why couldn't I reach you earlier?"
"Are you kidding me? You wanted me to kidnap one of our Alphas during his Alpha celebration. There is no way that was going to go smoothly. There were so many people trying to congratulate him. It took some time to get him alone."
I look at Justin but don't say anything. I'm looking for anything that says he is full of shit, but I see nothing. I lean back and place my feet on the table. "Well, he's here so there's that. Good job."
"Where is Alpha Zahara?"
"Does it matter?" Justin doesn't respond, but I guess there is no harm in letting him know. "I took her where I was asked to. Some cabin on the outskirts. I left her there as requested so I have no idea what's going on with her now." Justin sighs a bit.
"You never even said who hired us." I look at Justin; really look at him. I try to see if there is anything I need to know, anything that he may be hiding from me. Justin looks a bit nervous, but I'd imagine that it's due to him kidnapping an Alpha. Justin is not as hardcore as Len and I, so I'm not surprised.
"Actually, it was an Alpha.....that Alpha of the Wild Tail Pack. He wanted Zahara for himself and Cory out of the picture. Truthfully, that's how he ended up with us. The Alpha tried to kill him, but he survived. Honestly, I didn't really care about the details. I just wanted to make sure I can have a go at Cory. He said I can't kill him, but accidents do happen." Justin looks at me but says nothing. I didn't expect him to. I get up and walk over to Cory. "Now I just have to decide how I want to approach this. So many choices and so little time."
~Cory~
That fucker! Laslo did all of this; Laslo had us kidnapped?! Laslo is who tried to kill me! I flashback to that night, and I start to remember some things that I couldn't before. I did remember catching a glimpse of the person attacking me while I was in the pantry. It was Laslo, but I suppressed it for some reason.
The truth is out now, and I know what I know. Laslo has my mate somewhere, and he wants me dead. I can't say I'm really surprised, but a part of me never thought that Laslo would take things this far. I would imagine he and his mother were behind me, being fed wolfsbane all of these years.
I've been keeping still this whole time. The plan was to get as much information as I could about Zahara's whereabouts so that we know where to look for her. I have to admit that I'm surprised that Justin was able to keep his cool this entire time. I was pretty sure that he would lose it and give me up. I guess that I can take all of this into account when it comes time to punish him for his crimes.
I can smell Frankie's scent get closer to me. I know he is plotting, trying to figure out what he wants to do with me. Little does he know that he won't have the opportunity to do anything to me. I have some warriors on standby that will come in and take Frankie to the cells when I'm ready. Sylas would really like to kill him, but I think that is the easy way out. I want to make sure that he suffers for all that he has done and everything that he plans to do.
A pain shoots through my spine, and I realize that Frankie just kicked me. Luckily for me, I have learned how to keep my reactions to a minimum after having to deal with all of the abuse I did growing up. I keep my face neutral and don't jerk my body too much. I receive another kick to the back, and I can feel my anger build. Frankie pulls my shoulder so that I'm lying flat on my back. I feel this won't be a good thing, but I will have to make it work for my benefit. I slightly open my eye, I can see out of it, but no one can tell it's open. I see Frankie staring at me with a smirk on his face. He lifts his foot, and I know he plans to smash it down on my chest.
Frankie brings his foot down fast, but I grab it right before it makes contact. Frankie's eyes get big, and I smirk at him. I push his foot away with so much force that his entire body twists and falls to the ground. I get off the floor and stand over Frankie. "I know, I know.....this is not how you expected things to turn out. What can I say?" Frankie scowls at me while I mind link the warriors to come in. The door crashes open, and they grab Frankie and Justin. Lennox comes in as they remove those two from the shack. "Laslo has Zahara."
"How will we get her back?"
"I don't know, but we have to think of something. I want my mate back as soon as possible."
