Another recommendation for your own mental health and safety: please do not read any of this book if you're sensitive or triggered by sexual and physical abuse, verbal abuse, suicide, and self harm. It's not 100% necessary to the plot of the series, so you'll be able to read the third book when it comes out without reading this one. On another note, this book is written a bit differently than the first one is. It's written as if Scott wrote it into a therapeutic/venting diary, after the events of the first book. Each entry contains more commentary and opinions on Scott's part than actual written out scenes, so you guys can know how Scott thinks!

it's kind of funny how the media makes people's lives seem so perfect just because they're wealthy. it tells those who don't have such "fortune and luck" that we're happy and don't have a care in the world. it says that we don't have to worry about anything because we have money and political and social power.
but everyone knows it's a lie. everyone knows it's a big pile of shit, yet they refuse to acknowledge it. it's practically a taboo, as if it's forbidden to say out loud that we're unhappy and falling apart as a family.
the world will end if a boy who's "popular" and "rich" and "spoiled" tells anyone that he wants to end his life because he feels no sense of worth even though everybody says they love him. everything falls apart if the daughter of a wealthy man admits to being sexually abused and raped through her entire childhood, ages six to seventeen, before being put into inpatient care until she was twenty for attempted suicide because she couldn't take it anymore. everyone would just die if they were told that the happy couple wasn't really in love and the wife was a victim of her husband, who is obsessed with money and power and sex. it would all be over for everybody if they found out that the poor twin cousins of that boy and girl were seperated at a young age and taught to hate each other because their parents' marriage fell apart shortly after their birth.
nobody would believe it if a family seemingly so well put together was a shambles - broken, depressed, hateful. everything would be a lie if they weren't perfect.
right?
because what's shown on the outside is always how it is on the inside.
right?
that's how it works.
at least, that's how it works to snotty middle class people who become friends with me just to leach off of my family's bank account, and the people who can't see past their own simple struggles to realize the things other people go through.
what makes it even worse, though, is that only now that i don't have to deal with any of that anymore, people start to care. but they didn't bat an eye when any of it actually happened, and that's what pisses me off.
if they knew i needed help, why didn't they come and help me then?

I just want to say that, again, if you're uncomfortable with the topics in the warnings above and in the chapter, I really really don't want you to force yourself to read this. It's not necessary to the plot of the series, like the Cutscenes in the first book, so don't force yourself. You can also skip chapters depending on the trigger warnings if you need to. Your health and safety is so much more important to me than views on a book that I wrote about some silly guys that play video games for a living. I cannot stress this enough. /gen
