I leaned against Samantha, trying not to get too worried. We've been here for about three hours and haven't heard anything. Samantha put her arm around me and I shuddered, fearing the worst–Kailyn's dead–I looked up to my sister and she looked down.
Me: Samantha, it's been a long time and we haven't heard anything. What if something's gone wrong?
Samantha: It's okay, Jessica. They might just be having a hard time getting her stable.
Me: But why won't they tell us anything?
Samantha: They might be waiting.
Me: For what?
My voice rose and shook in distress as I stood up and started pacing, my sister was in there dying and I couldn't be by her side. My mind was racing and I thought of everything that could go wrong, like what happened back in June when she was kidnapped and whenever anything has happened to her.
