I had started shivering about the time that Kevin had finished opening his gift. Kirstin felt that my body was shivering and was cold. She immediately released me and looked into my brown eyes, which had glazed with cold.
Kirstin: Excuse me, ma'am.
Me: W-What?
Mitch: Kailyn, are you okay?
I wasn't able to answer because that's when Kirstin pulled me into her, so she could warm me up. I tried to pull away from her, but she just tightened her grip. It seemed as though she wasn't taking 'no' for an answer. I put my hands on her and tried to push myself away, but my weakened, burnt arms wouldn't support me. Just let me go, Kirstin. I begged silently as I opened my mouth to speak. That's when I felt a kick in my side. I kept my pain to myself, thinking that it was just something from my past injuries.
Me: K-Kirstin, please. I-I'm fi-fi-f-fine.
Kirstin: You're not fine, sweetheart. You're shivering and your skin it ice cold
I opened my mouth again, but then a sharp, searing pain started in my side. I winced and I could easily start to feel my body being weakened by whatever was happening in my side. Kirstin felt me wince and instantly released me, as if she thought she was causing the pain even though her arms weren't even where the pain started.
Kirstin: What's wrong, baby?
Me: M-My s-s-si-s-side.
It was hard to talk because the pain was getting worse. Now it felt as though I was being shocked. Kirstin looked up with tears in her brown eyes.
Kirstin: What's going on?
Kevin stood up and examined my body which was trembling and it was starting to show what was happening.
Kevin: I think she's being shocked.
Kirstin let out a cry of distress and started to cry. Scott put his hand on her back as Mitch cautiously felt my side and his hand jerked back when I winced.
Mitch: Sorry, sweetheart. It feels like it's inside her.
Jessica then came into the room as if she wanted to see what was going on. When he saw me, trembling and wincing in pain, her green eyes filled with tears and concern and utter fear. Her voice rose with distress.
Jessica: Kailyn! No, no, no, no. This can not be happening! Please stay strong, sis. Please.
Scott: Huh?
Scott, shut up. She's already stressed out, so leave her alone. I told him silently. Thankfully, Jessica ignored him and dashed to my side. I weakly opened my eyes, and slightly nodded to Jessica. She looked as if she had seen a ghost. Do it, Jess. You know that it's the only way. I told her silently and my eyes squeezed shut as another wave of pain swept through my weakening body.
Jessica: I-I can't, K-Kailyn. I-I lo-l-lo-ve y-you t-t-to-too much.
She knew what I meant? I wondered as she gently put her hands on my knees. Tears were starting to stream down her face as I leaned more into Kirstin because the pain started getting even worse. Jessica's green eyes were streaming tears as her and Pentatonix watched the energy drain quickly from my body.
Mitch: There has to be a way to help her.
Jessica stared at my side and she then knew that her original fear was coming true. Jessica, you know what you have to do, just tell them. She refused to leave my side, so she got closer to me and looked up slightly, her eyes still on my side.
Jessica: There's only one way that we can do to help-slash-save her.
Kirstin: S-Save?
