Kenma slowly blinked, the game on the screen being completely forgotten.
You paused the game and turned to face him with a deadly serious expression- one none of the others have ever seen from you before. "Everyone expects me to always be sweet and friendly. And so I am. I'm always wearing a smile for everyone else. I don't like worrying everyone, my family least of all. So I manage to deal with stress and all my other problems by myself, usually by finding something to do in my room."
Kenma took a deep breath, then slowly moved until he was right beside you. He carefully wrapped and arm around you, gently moving your head to rest on his shoulder. "Why don't you just say something to us? You don't have to hide it."
You gave a dry chuckle. "If I said to the entire team 'hey guys, I feel a bit stressed at the moment, mind if I take some time off?' what do you think Mori would end up doing?"
Kenma leaned his head on yours. "Fair point. Yaku-san would completely lose it and accuse the team of being the problem."
"Exactly. So, I can't necessarily talk about my problems."
"Not true."
"How so?"
He hesitated, unsure if he really wanted to voice his thoughts. "You... you could always come to me. I may not be as emotional as the others, I'm not very good in those kinds of situations. But, I do care about you and want to make sure you feel comfortable and relaxed...."
You smiled, wrapping your arms around Kenma. "You're so sweet sometimes! You know that?"
You couldn't see it, but the setter's cheeks flushed a light pink. "I'm just being honest...."
"True, but that just means you usually know what to say, Kenken. Thanks."
"It's nothing...." His voice gradually grew quieter, making him sound more like his was mumbling rather than actually speaking to you.
You giggled at the action. "It means a lot to me. So... does this mean I can come to you whenever I have a problem, or just wanna talk to someone?"
He smiled slightly. "Of course."
And like with all cute, sweet, pure, wholesome moments... someone just has to come and ruin it.
Your door bursts open, Lev's figure standing in the doorway. "Kuroo-san asked me to come get you two! He said dinner's ready."
You giggle at the tall boy. "Alright. We're coming. Right, Kenken?" You turn to face the setter that was still sitting on your bed as you stood on the floor.
He sighed, disappointed and slightly irritated that the moment between you two was rudely interrupted. He slowly got up off your bed. "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming."

Dinner had been uncomfortably silent. Neither you nor Morisuke said a word, especially not to each other.
Kuroo and Lev ended up doing most of the talking. Yamamoto, Fukunaga, Kai, and Inuoka joining in at various moments to keep it from being silent.
You sat beside Kenma quietly, mind wandering back to playing Mario Kart. A new strategy formed in your head, one that would ensure the win for you. You almost completely zoned out, utterly focused on how to beat Kenma at the game- finally breaking the back and forth tie you two had currently been in prior to leaving your room for dinner.
This, of course, captured the full attention of the setter beside you. Kenma stared at you with his golden cat-like eyes, taking in every slight change in your facial features as you were deep in thought. Seeing the twitching and on/off sparkle in your eyes as plans kept being formulated in your mind had become somewhat amusing to the boy. Without his consciousness of it, his lips slowly tugged into a sweet smile, eyes shimmering with admiration as all of his focus remained on you.
After a few moments of glancing at his childhood best friend from the corner of his eye, Kuroo's curiosity made him shift the attention to where you two sat. "Kenma, you have stars in your eyes. Did you hit your head or something?"
The setter tensed, quickly looking away from you and changing his expression back to his usual emotionless one. "Dunno what you're talking about, Kuro."
You snapped out of your daze, turning to look at Kenma, who looked as he usually does. "Huh? He looks the same as normal?"
Kuroo smirked, the dots connecting in his head. "He didn't just a moment ago."
You looked at the captain in utter confusion. "How did he look?"
"As if he saw an angel."
"Did not." Kenma glared at the rooster head.
"Did too."
You looked between the bickering boys, curious about it since it was the first time you got to experience it. "Is the food that good, Kenken?"
Kuroo burst out laughing.
Kenma blushed slightly, refusing to make eye contact with you. "I guess...."
You just stared at the boys in absolute confusion, not understanding their reactions. "O...k...?"
Your brother just took in the scene before him. "Shut the fuck up Kuroo, you sound like a dying hyena."
Kuroo quickly ceased his laughter and glared at the libero. "I do not!"
"You do."
It was now Kuroo and Morisuke who began bickering back and forth. It had ended up gaining almost everyone's attention.
You turned and whispered into Kenma's ear. "Wanna go back to my room and play more Mario Kart?"
His eyes lit up as he faced you. "Yes please."
