CHAPTER 3

Alex

The worst feeling is loneliness. Being alone is okay, because some people like the silence and being left with their own thoughts. But loneliness is terrifying, because you find yourself surrounded by people and they all know you and talk to you but you still feel like there's no one there for you. I hate it...

Our pack is wealthy since most of our members were descendents from middle class and rich families, we used tax money to make our own companies and markets so we wouldn't have to pay the humans. We gained a lot and we lost little to nothing.

"Alpha?" I heard Harley say as we walked inside the human airport, I felt her hand grab mine and she handed me something. I felt the stick and I gave her a confused look.

"We're in the human world alpha, you're blind and if you don't act like it they'll get suspicious" she explained, I sighed and pushed my sunglasses further into my face. I opened the walking stick and started using it to walk around, it was unexpectedly very helpful than I thought it would be. Because the sound it made against the ground echoed and I could feel it when something is right in front of me. it's like what bats do to see in the dark.

"I see you like it" Harley said jokingly, I rolled my eyes under the sunglasses. I felt her hand wrap around my arm as she lead us to our gates. Jeffrey and Dustin were following close behind.

The flight was very long and I had to move around the plane since it was a private jet, I was getting tired of just sitting around and not doing anything. I tried to sleep but it wasn't enough.

"You're giving me a headache" Harley groaned in annoyance, I sighed and sat down back on my seat. I felt her move around and I could smell her scent getting closer.

"Alex... I didn't have time to say sorry for what happened three years ago" she said as she sat down next to me, I nodded my head and tried to stop thinking of her. Why can't I stop thinking of her, why. I'm so tired, everytime I imagine her face in my head my heart and chest hurt. I winced and laid back down with my hand holding my chest.

"I'm sorry!" Harley said panicking, I shook my head no trying to reassure her it wasn't her fault that Nadine left or that I remembered her face and that's what caused the pain.

"It's been a while since I felt this pain, so it caught me off guard" I explained, a hand rubbed my back comfortingly when the pilot said we were about to land. I put my seatbelt on, finally the 9h flight was over and I can get some fresh air.

"Ms Jones!" I heard a feminine voice call for me as we made our way to the car, I stopped and turned around waiting for the human to get close.

"Yes?" I asked curious with what she wanted, her hand held mine and I felt her slide a piece of paper in my palm. Her lips landed on my cheek and she whispered something.

"Call me" she said not knowing I was blind and had a folded stick in my hands that was actually used by blind people. I chuckled and handed the paper to Harley while I heard the human girl leave.

"Damn Alex, still got game" Harley laughed and put the piece of paper in my pocket, I wasn't going to call her in the first place. I'm not into sleeping around anymore, it was fun when I could see who was sucking my dick.

I sighed holding the stick tightly in my hand while we sat in the car, it smelt different. Like a mixture of werewolves and humans. I'm pretty sure the driver was a human as well.

"Miss Jones, the pack isn't far from here. The closet way is through the forest, but if you wanna see the city y-" I laughed cutting him off, I could feel pairs of eyes on me. Some nervous, and those were probably from my pack. I could sense that Harley wasn't happy with what he said. I patted her knee trying to comfort her and pulled my glasses on top of my head.

"Even if you take the way through the city, I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the view" I said turning my head to where the sound of his racing heart was coming, I'm sure he saw my white eyes through the rearview mirror.

"Oh shit! I'm so sorry, miss Jones. I had n-" I pulled my hand up stopping him from rambling, the ride was quiet from that point. I know he was just trying to make me feel comfortable and he failed miserably.

"We're here" I heard his voice say again, the door was opened and I exited. I handed the stick to Harley so she can hold it for me, I don't need it here.

"Follow me" Someone said, I could hear thousands of footsteps and heartbeats, different type of scents. I followed after Harley and guy listening carefully to where he was going. We were inside a building because, the sounds of trees and cars were fading away.

"Alpha Rogan will be seeing you in her office" the guy said, I waited until someone walked in front of me so I would know if there are stairs or not and I was indeed correct. I felt a hand sneak in my arm and from the scent I knew it was Harley. I smiled as we made our way to the top, we turned right and we kept walking, I think it was a hallway.

The door was opened and I was welcomed with a smell, inside the room I heard one single heartbeat but two scents. I heard someone move around until they were right in front of me.

"Alpha Alex" the feminine voice said, she was right in front of my face but I couldn't hear her heartbeat. That means she's a vampire, I smiled and gave her my hand to shake.

"Nice to meet you ehm...?" I trailed trying to get her name, her hand caught mine.

"Levi" she answered, I walked closer to the desk and gave my hand to the woman sat there. I'm sure she was Rogan.

"Alex Jones" I said holding my hand in front of me, I could feel her hesitating to shake my hand and I smirked internally. She could sense something wasn't normal about me.

"These are my pack members, Harley my beta, Jeffrey is the black haired guy and Dustin is the blonde." I explained taking a seat in front of her desk. I could feel a tension in the room making me sigh annoyed. I took off my sunglasses and Rogan gasped.

"Woah no need to gasp, I'm just blind" I said rolling my eyes and folding my arms in front of me. I could feel her move her hand in front of my face and I quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her to my face. I heard a growl coming from the vampire, hmmm so they're mates.

"Just because I'm blind, doesn't mean I can't feel movement. I'm not alpha just like that. I earned this title" I let got of her hand and mentioned with my hand for Harley to come closer, she handed me the papers and I gave them to Rogan.

"I know you have your terms and conditions, these are mine. I hope we can become friends" I don't take disrespect from anyone, I don't give a damn if she controls hundreds of pack. I stood up about to leave when she called for me.

"Wait! I'm sorry if I offended you Alex..." I heard her move around her desk, and she walked right in front of me. I felt her move her hand, she left me hanging a minute ago now she wants to shake my hand.

"I thought the blind wolf is just a myth, I was just surprised and....surprised?" She explained, she grabbed my hand and patted my knuckles gently.

"I accept whatever your conditions are, I'd rather be your ally than your enemy" I could feel some doubt in her voice, or hesitation. Like she wasn't truly saying the truth, I just don't know which part of her words was a lie, the ally part or the terms.

Hopefully I don't find a problem with her or any of her vampires...
