CHAPTER 10

Nadine

Alex brushed her hair out of her face and I noticed a scar on her eyebrow, she was still wearing her sunglasses to hide her eyes but the scar was there. I let my fingers touch it softly and I saw her visibly shiver at my touch.

"What happened?" I asked curiously, she smile taking her sunglasses off and the scar was on her eyelid as well. Her white eyes stared at me as if they were watching my soul, I knew she couldn't see but they were on me and they made me feel things.

"Well, this one time I was in so much pain..." She pointed to her head referring that the pain was in her head.

"...and I couldn't stop it. It was too much, I- eh started hitting my head on the wall to make it stop and yeah...now I have this" she chuckled dropping her head down like she was embarrassed with herself. I can't imagine how bad the pain was to make her want to do that to herself.

"It's alright Alex...I know you're in pain and you went through a lot, you're not ready to talk about but whenever you feel like it I'll be there to listen" I said with a smile, I watched her bite the inside of her cheek and nod her head.

"Thank you..." She whispered, she seemed too deep in thoughts when her head suddenly looked up. She turned it around as if she was looking for something, then her eyebrows scrunching in worry. She grabbed her sunglasses and put them on, she turned towards me without smiling she stood up and gave me her hand. I stared at it for a second before grabbing it.

"Harley is waiting outside, can you guide me there?" She asked softly, I watched her put money that was too much for what we ordered but I didn't question it. I held her hand and carefully pulled her out of the coffee shop where Harley was standing with an angry face while she looked in her surroundings.

"Harley nice to see you again" I said with smile, her face lit up and she nodded. She grabbed Alex from her other arm and we were taken to the car.

"Jeff, get out of the car." She said to the moustache guy, who did as she said without hesitation.

"Nadine darling, I need you to do something for me" she whispered in my ear, my cheeks were warming up at our close distance and soft breath tickling my ear.

"You go with Harley and don't leave her side until I come back." She demanded in a stern voice, I gave her a confused look and shook my head no like she could see it.

"What? Why? Where are you going!?" I asked, she smiled and kissed my cheek before I was pulled inside the car. I tried to pull on the handle but the doors were locked, I watched as her and the other guy spoke in the middle of the parking lot.

"Relax, she knows what she's doing" I heard Harley say,

"She's fuckin blind Harley?! What can she do?!" I said worried, it weirded me out how she suddenly wanted to leave as if someone called for her urgently.

"She's not that blind..." I heard her mumble and my eyes went wide, what the hell is this woman saying? Did she really just say that? Is she being serious?

"What the fuck are you even saying Harley?" I asked confused, she rolled her eyes and laid back against her seat with a smile.

"She's like batman but literally, like with the echolocation ability and stuff. She can handle it" she said in a duh way, this woman must've been dropped when she was a child because what the hell is this rubbish coming out of her mouth.

"You humans are all alike" she said with a loud sigh, Harley leaned closer to me with a smirk on her face. Her eyes started to turn into a different color and my heart started to beat uncontrollably, was I seeing things?

"Listen here human, if you want to live you better do exactly as I tell you" she whispered with a loud growl, my tears started to fall down my cheeks as I nodded my head yes. She tapped my cheek with her finger and her smirk went wider.

"Good, now listen, in this world there aren't just you nasty humans. Other living species exist, us werewolves and vampires are the majority then the fairies and other minorities in our world" my human brain wasn't catching up to what she was telling me, werewolves? Vampires? What is this shit? A fairytale?

"I know your stupid little brain can't believe this but it's better for you to start believing because I'm gonna need you to do something for me" she said with a smile, I was still weirded out, was she on Alex's side? Did Alex know about this? Was she like her too?

"You see, my mate Jackie, you remember her right? She's in control of our pack back home, Alex has made a huge mistake by trusting me with her pack and her little mate..." Her finger traced my cheek and I yanked my head back away from her.

"Tsk tsk, she took something so dear to me. Now I'm taking hers...you" she gripped my jaw had and pulled me towards her face,

"She was the reason my brother died in a fire. She was saved instead because she has alpha blood while my little brother, a simple pack member was left to burn in a flaming house" she said with hatred, I could see the anger and hate in her eyes, I felt something sharp poke my side and I winced.

"Now listen clearly Nadine, I need you to make her stay here at all cost and to completely forget about her pack..." She pushed the knife harder and I felt it cut through my shirt.

"But not just that, I need her...gone. I could easily do that by killing you since you're her soulmate but I wanna make her suffer. Making her lose her sight wasn't enough..." She let go of my face harshly and turned to look towards the window.

"I want you to poison her Nadine, and if you don't do that I'm gonna kill every single person that you know, I'm going to take your little sister and feed her to my wolves I'll make you watch her getting teared apart by animals." She threatened, by now I just listened and sniffed trying to wipe the tears out of my face so I could see clearly.

"I mean it..." Her canines getting longer resembling to an animal, I knew she was telling the truth I just needed something to prove it.

"I made you...her soulmate leave her heartbroken. She cried every night and I enjoyed hearing her screams of pain, I loved every time she was rushed to the hospital because she hit her head too hard on the wall she passed out, she cried and cried until her eyes turned white and couldn't see light anymore. It was all because in our world, a wolf can not live without their mate" her words dripped in my ear like acid, making my guilt build up and worsen. She lost her sight, she was being mentally and physically tortured because of me, I let out a soft cry but quickly hid it by putting my hand over my mouth.

"Do whatever you want with her, just make sure she has three drops of this everyday. It's scentless so she wouldn't even smell it in her drink" she handed me a vial filled with a transparent liquid.

"One month is all it takes for her to disappear....use your head human. Her life or everyone that you love" Harley smirked forcing my fist open putting the vial inside it. I didn't even realize the car has stopped or how long it's been parked, the blonde guy driving was with Harley as well because he's been eyeing me for a while now.

"Pretend this never happened..." Harley whispered wiping my tears with her fingers, suddenly the door opened revealing Alex and the other guy. I hid the small bottle in my pocket and jumped out of the car wrapping my arms around Alex's neck.

"What's wrong?" She asked worried, I laid my head on her chest hearing her soft heartbeats that made this situation even worse. When I didn't reply she just shushed me and rubbed my back gently. How am I supposed to hurt her when she means so much to me?
