CHAPTER 18

Alex

We were already at the airport ready to leave, my mate and Bree were already inside the jet while me and Jeff waited outside for a smoke.

"Do you think she went back to the pack as well?" He asked curiously, the subject about Harley being a traitor and siding with that bastard was irritating me and I had to end this problem before it gets out of control.

"I have no idea Jeff, she probably knows we're going back and Jackie is there so she's scared we'll get to her mate before she does." If we get to Jackie first, we could use her to lure Harley to us that's what I've been thinking most of the time, as for Hector I'll deal with him myself. Rogan has agreed that once we get rid of him I'll take over his pack.

"Let's just hope everything goes according to our plan" he said stomping in the cigarette, I nodded throwing mine away then went inside the jet.

My beautiful mate was sitting next to one of the windows, I smiled at her feeling my chest swell in admiration. She was stunning and the sun was literally making her glow, she noticed me looking at her and she started to blush. I went and sat next to her taking her hand in mine.

"You're so beautiful darling" I whispered kissing her temple, she squeezed my hand and leaned her head on my shoulder and soon after the plane took off. I looked at Nadine's hand and smiled, her smaller ones fit perfectly in mine. I pulled them to my lips and gently kissed them.

The long flight has made my whole body sore and I was so glad we've finally landed, I kissed Nadine's head to wake her up and she stirred awake and softly rubbed her sleepy eyes before she looked up at me.

"Morning sunshine, we've landed" I said with a smile then leaned to kiss her soft lips, we left the plane and there was an SUV waiting for us. There was no sign of Jackie or Harley only the scent of Torres, my old alpha. Jeff and Bree put everything in the car and I opened the door to find Torres sitting inside.

"Torres? What are you doing here?" The old man looked tired and like he's been through shit, I pulled my mate next to me then Jeff and Bree went to sit as well.

"I'm really glad you're back Alex, everything went downhill after you left. We're not going to the pack, it's too dangerous" he explained, I gave him a confused look and asked him to continue with his explanation.

"Jackie had been telling everyone that she was the new alpha and that you've abandoned everyone to go look for your mate. Some have followed her while those who were against her were either killed, imprisoned or have escaped with me..." He said with a loud sigh while rubbing his face, I could tell he's been trying to keep things in control but he was on the verge of collapsing.

"She...killed Farah. My mate..." Her cried out putting his head in his hands, I leaned forward and held his shoulder trying to comfort this man who lost his other half.

"Because I said no to her...she killed her in her sleep. Jackie put something in our food, and I didn't even hear or feel the murderer come inside our room...it's terrible Alex... waking up the next morning, to a blood soaked bed and your mate, your wife...slaughtered" Farah was the nicest woman I've ever seen in my life, she always wanted us to be feed good and safe in the pack house, she took care of the pups and made sure everyone was happy, she was like another motherly figure which made me think...

"My mom? And siblings? Where are they?" I was afraid something might've happened to her while I was away.

"They're all with me don't worry, also the reason why we couldn't contact you is because Jackie is listening to everything, trying so hard to find our location" Torres said just as the car stopped, somebody opened the door for us and he got out followed by me.

I grabbed Nadine's hand helped her out of the vehicle, they've built wooden houses in the middle of the forest, they looked like a small community living at peace only that wasn't true, there wasn't peace at all, not until the traitors are dead.

"We're in a different territory so they won't be able to cross, we have the permission from the owners to stay here until we can go back to our home" We all followed after Torres, everyone was training including younger wolves. When I passed by some pack members and they would smile at me with hope as if I was some kind of savor then they bow in respect.

We walked inside one of the cabins and my mother's scent hit me, I let go of Nadine's hand and ran further inside to find my mom in the kitchen making something. When she looked up and saw me her eyes widened, I smiled and walked closer to her wrapping her in a warm hug.

"I've missed you mom" I said hugging her tight, she silently cried but I could still hear the sound of her sadness and feel her sorrow. She pulled away grabbed my face, I was wearing my sunglasses so I thought maybe I should surprise her.

I pushed the object away from my eyes and smiled at my mom who had her hand over her mouth in surprise, she looked like she didn't believe what was happening.

"Y-you can see with it?" She asked pointing to my functional eye, I nodded confirming. She gave me a confused look probably thinking how did I miraculously get my sight back in one eye and I wasn't going to tell her I've slept with Nadine because she's gonna make a stupid dad joke, like "pussy power" or something and she won't ever drop it.

"How?" On queue Nadine walked in the kitchen as well and I pointed at her with a proud smile. Nadine ran to my mom and hugged her.

"My lovely Nadine, you've grown so much" my mom said holding Nadine's face, she kissed her head and hugged her again. I just want this to be over so I can live happily with my mate...

"Where are Stacy and Liam?" Nadine asked my mom about my younger siblings, I haven't seen them in a long while and I've missed so much.

"Stacy won't leave her room unless it's for food, and Liam is playing with the other kids" my mom said with a frustrated sigh, I wonder why my little sister won't leave her room, did something happen to her?

I went upstairs following her scent until I found her room, I knocked a few times but she didn't answer and I could hear her heartbeats so I just decided to open the door and walk in. My sister was sitting on her bed drawing something with tears in her eyes.

"Hey kiddo" I said with a soft smile, she looked up fast like she didn't believe she heard my voice, when she saw me her eyes only watered more then she got up and ran to me. I picked her up and she hugged me tightly.

"How are you doing kid?" I asked sitting her down on her bed, I noticed the notepad had a beautiful drawing of a girl. A girl that looked very familiar, almost like a younger version of June, Nadine's sister...

"I'm good, I'm just scared Alex. Everyone is dying, my classmates, even mom's friend is gone. What if it's me who's next?" She sniffed, I didn't want my family or pack to live in fear. I have to stop this, I have to protect them...

"No don't say that Stacey, no one will ever hurt you as long as I'm alive, okay?" I kissed her head and rubbed her back, I need to figure out a plan on how to kill Jackie and Harley and anyone who helped plan this, I was going to exterminate them all and set an example for all those who want to betray me.
