CHAPTER 11

Alex

I was surprised and confused why Nadine suddenly jumped on me for a hug. Her smaller body collided with me as she cried in my chest, I asked her what happened? Did Harley upset her? But she just cried and didn't say anything.

We were just back from checking by the borders where Harley said she smelled rogues. When I asked Jeff about it he said he didn't get a sniff of any but he said Dustin smelled them as well so he didn't argue.

"Darling if you don't tell me what's wrong I can't help you" I whispered kissing the top of her head, she shook her head no between my boobs and I chuckled.

"Later?" I asked with a smile and she nodded her head yes. She pulled away and I put my hands on her face, my thumbs gently wiped her  tears. I wish I could see her pouty lips and how rosy they are or how her lashes get drenched with tears.

"Let me take you home, princess" I whispered softly, I asked her to go inside the car but she hesitated like she was scared of something or someone. Hmm there wasn't anyone but her, Harley and Dustin. I may have to check on this, I can't offer my mate getting hurt by someone from my pack.

When she sat inside she was glued to my side and completely avoiding Harley like she was on fire. So now I'm sure it was Harley who's upset her, because before this and before I left Nadine was actually happy to see Harley again.

I wrapped my arm around Nadine protectively and pulled her closer which seemed to calm her down. The tension in the car was unbearable, I sighed in relief when we finally parked in front Nadine's house.

"We're leaving tonight so be ready" I said to everyone while getting out of the car, a hand slipped in mine intertwining our fingers making my heart skip a beat and my face lit up in a smile.

"If Harley was the reason you're upset you can tell me Nadine" I know Harley looks like an innocent girl but only I knew her in highschool, she was the one wolf who got all what she wanted by force but somehow when she found her mate she calmed down a bit.

"No don't worry, I just feel bad for not being there for you when you were going through rough time" she mumbled as we walked inside the house, I could hear a few heartbeats and scents in the house one that I recognize as Kali's.

"Nadine, you're back already?" I heard a familiar feminine voice and I smiled, Avah's scent got closer and I felt her move to hug her daughter.

"Alex, it's been a while how are you dear?" She asked before wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug, which made me remember my mom I left her all alone back at the pack. I hope she's doing okay, I'll have to call her later to check on her.

"I'm alright Avah, how are you doing? And where's June?" I asked with a soft smile, they pulled me further in the house maybe to their living room.

"Alex?!" I heard a younger voice, I heard her run from where she was and she jumped on me. June was always at our house, her and Stacey my little sister were inseparable. So, we were cool I guess.

"Oh you got so big" I said kissing her temple, she was a year older than Stacey so she was probably 14 now. I put her down with a smile, I didn't want to take off my glasses because I didn't want to scare her.

"How's school?" I asked the younger girl, I sat down on the couch and felt the two sides dip on my left was June while on my right I could smell Nadine's scent.

"School is boring, I miss Stace she made everything better" I can hear the sadness in her voice, I smiled and leaned down to her level.

"Well, you can come see her whenever you want. Just make sure you bring an adult with you" I pointed to Nadine, June giggled.

"I'll be at the academy for the rest of my stay, but I'll make sure to come by once in while" I turned my head to where Nadine was sat and smiled, I heard her heart pick up its speed and I could tell something wasn't okay. She seems upset about something.

"I have a lot of work, I decided to spend sometime with Nadine since she said she missed me. But I'll be leaving later tonight" I stated with a hint of teasing, I felt a hand slip into mine and I smiled at the familiar sparks.

"Why can't you stay the night?" Nadine asked with a sad tone, my wolf had his ears down upset because our mate was sad. I would love to stay the night with her but I had to go talk with Rogan and see if we should continue with our deal.

"I have work in the morning, and I have to be there early" I explained gently tapping her hand that was in mine.

"Well, Alex you're welcome to stay as much as you want. Make yourself at home" Avah said with a sweet voice, I nodded thanking her silently. I heard them move around and I was left alone with Nadine in the living room.

"Let's go to my room" she said tucking on my hand, I stood and waited for her to guide me towards her room.

"Careful, there's a stair" she said softly, I knew there were stairs there because I could see the shadows but of course she doesn't have to know that so I let her hold my hand and help me all the way upstairs while I just smiled like an idiot.

"Well it's only like 12am so I guess we have a bit of time to talk and stuff" she said nervously, I chuckled and made my way to her bed. Shit. I moved without her helping me and if she saw she'll probably think I'm lying about being blind so  I just acted like nothing happened and  pulled my sunglasses off, I handed them to her so she can put them somewhere.

"Come here" I patted the spot next to me, goddess I love it when I made her nervous. When she didn't budge and just stood there not doing anything I spoke again.

"Come on darling, I don't bite..." I whispered with a smirk when I smelled something else mixed with her scent. I heard her feet move forward hesitantly but eventually she made it in front of me, I wrapped my arms around her waist and flipped her on the bed hovering over her.

"...unless you're into that" I whispered against her neck and the smell only got stronger, I smirked gently kissing on her skin. It was the softest and all I wanted to do is feel it against mine.

"You smell amazing..." I said tickling her skin with my breath and I could tell she was trying so hard not to let out any sounds. She hummed back with no verbal response.

"I might not be able to see you Nadine..." My lips were brushing against hers, I wanted to taste them again so bad. it's been three years and all I think about is her, I'm literally obsessed with her.

"...but I would love to hear you moan, so don't hold them...please" my fingers gently locked on her chin and I leaned in finally capturing her lips in a warm kiss. She let out a soft whimper that I adored so much.

Her lips were so plump and soft and I couldn't stop myself from tasting them, I wanted more of her.

My eyes were closed as I enjoyed the feeling of her hands tangled in my hair while her tongue wrestled with mine when I started to feel pain in my head. It's been a while since I've felt pain like this, I decided to ignore it but the longer and the deeper the kiss went my head started to hurt more.

"Fuck my head..." I pulled away with a painful grimace, I was holding my head in pain. Nadine's hands touched my face and in a caring way she started caressing my cheeks.

"Are you okay?" She asked pecking my lips multiple times, I nodded and sat up holding my head with both hands. Slowly the pain started to fade away.

When I finally opened my eyes I saw a flash of a color, it appeared so fast that I wouldn't have caught it. What just happened? I swear I saw color but it was gone the second it came. Did it have to do with Nadine being close to me?

"Is everything alright Alex? You don't seem fine." She was really worried now so I decided to lean down and catch her lips in a reassuring way, telling her that I was okay.

I can't believe what just happened....
