CHAPTER 15

As soon as we got inside Beth's house Tia wrapped her arms around me in a caring way. I sighed and hugged her back, I felt a hand on my lower back and I pulled away from the hug and turned to look at Alex.

I can't believe Beth is like Alex and I'm assuming everyone in this place is, since there's no way the other houses and their owners in this community just live there, in the middle of the woods, and have no clue what Beth is. This means that Tia could be...

"Are you..." I squinted my eyes suspiciously at Tia who looked surprised, she stared between me and Alex then sighed nodding her head. I gasped and walked past her to the couch.

"Next thing I know my own mother is a werewolf" I mumbled, someone walked out of the other room. Beth smiled at me while drying her hair with a towel.

"She's actually not, but she knows what we are" Beth said, I wonder for how long she's been informed because my mom told me how Beth and her became friends back in jail and I don't think a werewolf could let a human beat them. So I'm guessing this was recent.

"How is that even possible?" I asked confused, I felt the spot next to me dip and I felt and arm wrap around my smaller body. I laid my head on Alex's chest and waited for Beth to answer.

"Well about three years ago or so, Tia and I were going on hiking trip. Along with other people, at night we were attacked by wolves. Luckily for the both of us, we were only bitten I don't know if it was on purpose, now that I think about it but this one particular wolf just grabbed my leg and bite it but didn't do anything else. It let go and went to bite Tia, while everyone else were ripped apart" Beth explained with a suspicious look, maybe when Harley was talking about how she was the "cause" of our departure it might have something to do with this, because my mom looked terrified and she just wanted to leave the country immediately.

"My head hurts from all this information" I whispered with a loud sigh, suddenly the door swung open revealing moustache guy, Jeff. He was bloody and his shirt was ripped, he limped and Alex quickly went to his side. She helped him sit on the couch.

"She...she left" He said looking up at Alex, she clenched her jaw and rubbed her face in frustration.

"Do you have any idea where she could go?" Alex asked Jeff, Tia left the room and went back in a few seconds with an aid kit to help clean his wounds.

"I have no clue but back in the woods she was talking to someone and she said something about an ally in the academy." He said wincing when Tia cleaned the cut on his side. Alex was pacing around thinking about the situation.

"I have to meet Rogan first, then we're leaving back home" Alex turned to look at me, I just nodded my head because wherever she goes I'll go. She needs me as much as I need her and we both know that.

"Does Kali know you're here?" She asked looking between me and Beth, I nodded again. When Beth came to my house earlier and told me that Alex was asking to see me and that it was urgent, I told my parents that wherever she went I'll go and they shouldn't wait for me then we hurriedly left. Beth has brought men with her and they were garden my house.

"Good good..." She whispered, I watched as she  put her fingers on her chin in a thinking way. I stood up and walked towards her, I took her hand in mine and pulled her towards the couch.

"We have to go today, to the academy" she said sounding annoyed, I sat on her lap and she sighed in satisfaction then wrapped her arms around my waist. I felt her arms relax and she seemed to calm down a bit, she kissed my cheek softly then turned to look at Jeff.

"We'll leave when you're better, also Beth I need an extra person from your pack for protection." Beth nodded and left the room, Tia was seated on chair in front of us.

"Are you guys hungry? I can make you something" she said softly, I looked at Alex and she nodded politely. Tia left the room as well leaving the three of us, Jeff half asleep from exhaustion.

"You will not leave my sight again" Alex whispered gripping my sides, she kissed the back of my neck and I felt my whole body shiver. I loved it when she was protective, she does sound hot and it makes my naughty thoughts go wild.

"We'll leave tonight when Jeff is feeling better, now let him rest. He looks tired" I said leaning back on her chest, she picked me up by the waist like I was some sort of doll and put me up on my feet. She went to Jeff and helped him lay down, he closed his eyes and fell right back to sleep.

"You know, you're hot when you're getting... overprotective" I whispered with a smirk, she raised her perfect eyebrow at me and took step closer to me towering over my shorter height.

"Oh really?" She asked wrapping her arm around my waist and pulled me to her chest, I nodded my head with my bottom lip gently stuck in my mouth. She leaned closer to kiss me when the door opened making us jump, Alex groaned and I just smiled innocently.

"This is Bree, my pack's trainer. She's head warrior and well trusted, she'll be the one accompanying you" Beth said pointing to the woman standing next to her, she has long black hair that reached her chest and she was tall not as tall as Alex but still much taller than me. Her green eyes were cold and scary, she nodded her head as a way to say "hi" and folded her arms in front her.

"Bree, this is Alex. You'll go with her as an extra protection, specially for her human mate, Nadine" Beth explained, Bree girl eyed me up and down then her eyes went to Alex where they were stuck for a long while and I didn't like the way they roamed her body.

I tucked myself in front of Alex and she hugged me from behind and kissed the top of my head which made Bree turn to look at Beth and nod.

"We'll be leaving tonight when Jeff is better, be ready" Alex said in a serious tone, we were all called to the kitchen by Tia so we can eat.

"So Bree how long have you been a pack warrior?" Alex asked as we ate, Tia had made steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables, it was very delicious.

"About 8 years" she replied shortly, Alex nodded taking a bite of her food. I was just eating silently as I listened to their small talk.

"You should be more careful with the human..." Bree suddenly said, I could feel that Alex was getting irritated with her but I decided not to interfere.

"Going to the academy, with a human...who isn't mated or doesn't have a particular scent on them..." Bree said smirking while staring at me, Alex was gripping the fork so hard as she tried to calm herself down.

"Any alpha with...a good taste, would steal her from you and mate with her just because the-" before the woman could finish her sentence Alex had her by the neck and slammed against the closest kitchen wall.

"Alex put her down" I begged, the woman was trying to get out of my mate's strong grip and her face was turning red. Alex finally let her go and stormed out of the kitchen.

"Bree is right though" Tia said looking at me with a sad smile,

"That's what happened to me and Beth, we had no idea what mating was we were just girlfriends until the old mother fucker, the previous alpha, tried to sleep with me because Beth and I weren't mated yet." She explained, I guess Alex was upset because she didn't think about this and she's scared someone would hurt me. I guess we still have a lot of things to discuss, her and I.
