Ja'khi POV:

"There's blood on your face." Selah says. I touch my face to see a deep red liquid. I try to remember what happened, but I can't remember. It's almost like my memory faded.. "do you know what happened Ja'khi?" Summer asks me. "No." I answer honestly. I thinked harder trying to remember what happened. Nothing.
I stared at Greg for a bit still pissed for what he did. "Why don't you guys ask Dakota, she had blood on her too." I say. Selah walks over to her backpack, takes out her water bottle then walks over towards Dakota. She splashes it on her face. Dakota jolts awake. "Why did you splash water on me?!" Dakota shouts at Selah. Selah just ignores her and says "guys Dakota's awake now." We all burst out laughing. It was the first time we had laughed in a while.. Once we stopped laughing, everyone had forgotten about the blood situation. Selah said she was going to find food, Marleen said she would tag along. Nevaeh and Greg went to go find a town or a place with other people. Summer went to go find more material for our shelter and she brought River along with her. It was just me and Dakota now.

Dakota POV

Everyone but me and Ja'khi had left. It was quiet until Ja'khi broke the silence by saying "Dakota, do you know what happened last night.?" "No, why would I eat a bear?" I reply. "I never said it was a bear...." Ja'khi says. The tension was now so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Ja'khi walked over to me. "How did you know it was a bear. Answer me Dakota." Ja'khi says with with slight menace in his voice. "I overheard you guys talking about it." You could tell I was lying. Ja'khi walked closer to me then grabbed me by my arm and dragged me into the woods. "Let go of me Ja'khi!" I shout at him. He throws me on the ground. I look around to see the dead bear. "Explain, Now." Ja'khi says in a demanding tone. I knew I couldn't tell him what had happened. So I remained silent. Ja'khi pushed me on the ground again, this time he grabbed at stick and pointed it at my neck. "If you don't tell the others the truth, they'll all think we're even more of a monster than we are." Ja'khi states." "Fine" I say in a low shaky tone. He moves the stick away from my neck causing me to relax a bit. Just as I was about to tell him, Selah and Marleen came running at us. "GUYS RUN!" Marleen shouts. I look behind them to see a dog, most likely a stray. Selah and Marleen fly past us, heading straight to base
