Chapter 26

Authors note: we changed up the ending of chapter 25 to match this chapter so you should probably just read the last few sentences of chapter 25 again.

Ja'khi pov

Selah and Marleen had ran past us, leaving the stray with me and Dakota. I picked up a stick off the ground "SHOO!" I shout, throwing the stick at the dog. The dog didn't even flinch. It kept staring at me and Dakota with its dark, beady eyes. Before either of us could react, the dog lunged at Dakota. I could see it ripping her pale skin right off. Her arm was covered in blood. I ran over to get the dog off of her but. It was too late.

  Dakota grabbed the dog and ripped off it's head. Now the blood everywhere wasn't her's, it was the dog's. But that wasn't the most shocking part. The most shocking was when she bit into the dog's abdomen. Blood was covering her P. I heard footsteps coming so I turned around, it was Nevaeh.

Nevaeh pov:
   "Guys are you oka-" I pause when I see the sight before my eyes. Dakota was eating the dog. Ja'khi stood there looking at me. My body was frozen in fear, I knew they were zombies but I didn't think they were this out of control... I slowly back away.
"Nevaeh..we aren't going to hurt you just calm down." Ja'khi says in a somewhat frustrated tone. I didn't pay attention to him. Instead I ran, I ran as fast as I could. Ja'khi was running behind me. I see base in the distance but before I can make it, Ja'khi tackles me to the ground. "Nevaeh calm down!" He shouts. I let out a loud scream. "HELP ME" I shout. Ja'khi quickly covers my mouth. "Nevaeh this is the last time I'm going to tell you. Shut your mouth." Ja'khi says. I don't listen, again. I bite his hand which causes him to let go. I quickly stand up but Ja'khi reaches for my leg but accidentally scratches it. I run to Base with my bleeding leg. "Yo Nevaeh you okay?" Greg says when he sees me. I fall to the ground and black out.
