The robe you pulled on and fastened finished the last touch of your outfit. Again, with wearing formal attire; you did have to look as best as you could in front of the courts today. The odds weren't quite on your side; Damnatio and you didn't get along very well- you didn't hate each other but you didn't get along, the mass jury over-looking your trial were nobles who were disgusted by the sight of you- a former noble- not to mention majority of them were friends with the Praxi family anyway. You still couldn't believe that the courts agreed to such excessive terms. If you lost today, you'd have to pay ten-thousand yule to the Praxi family and another thousand to the Magic Parliament, you'd be suspended from the Magic Knights, imprisoned for five years, before being handed over to the Praxi's to do with as they see fit; excluding murder. How irritating. Damnatio would be waiting out the front of the base with Cob and Mages to deal with you if you rebelled on the way there.
You reached for your bottle of water, taking a long drink from it before placing it back down. Maybe Julius was right, you should have taken his offer to get you a representative. You had assured him you could deal with this yourself and you didn't need interference- but in order to win you couldn't piss anyone off. Your people skills weren't the greatest- they hadn't been for a number of years now. You fixed up your hair, for the second time before turning away from the mirror. You sighed deeply, you already had paperwork to finalise before next week, this was taking out of your time. 'Captain, you were supposed to help me deal with this. You said it wouldn't come to this.'
You opened your door to leave your room, just to see Zenon in front of you, his hand out as though he was about to knock. "What are you doing here?" You questioned, unfazed but his sudden appearance. He looked worried- panicked even. His hair was more dishevelled than usual, it looked as though he hadn't slept last night. His shoulders rose and fell quickly; his breathing was heavy but short. "Sir... What going on...?" You remained silent. "There's whispers that Damnatio and capital mages are out the front waiting to arrest you. I-I don't understand..." "I pissed off a noble family and the Magic Parliament agreed to take their case against me." Zenon's eyes dropped along with his hand, "Silvia, right?" You nodded wordlessly. "Asta and Finral told me what happened that day. You expelled her from the Magic Knights after protecting Finral and defending me. This can't be happening. You're the last person this should happen to...! Why- Why didn't you tell me...?" You stepped out of your room, shutting the door behind you before turning to walk away, "I'll be fine. Keep everyone in check while I'm gone." Before Zenon could say anything in retaliation, you had disappeared down the halls.
You could see Damnatio waiting with the others as you approached. You shut the bases main doors and began down the steps to Damnatio, stopping just in front of him. None of your actions showed a hint of fear, not a hint of worry. You were stoic, unwavering. You weren't afraid of them; you never would be. "(Y/N) Faust." "Damnatio Kira." "You are being put on trial to be judged on the accounts of unlawful termination of a member for the Magic Knights, physical assault, intimidating behaviour, malfeasance use of magic, and false accusation. If you are found guilty you are to be fined, imprisoned, and forfeited to the Praxi family. Do you understand this?" Damnatio looked down at you disapprovingly. "Yes." Damnatio gestured for you to hand your grimoire over. You unclasped it's pouch and handed it to him. He took your grimoire and placed cuffs over your wrists, "move it."
You followed him through the portal Cob conjured. You assumed him taking your grimoire became a rule after Asta's trial. You had the strength to get out of these restraints but the second you did, the Captain mages with their wands pointed at you that followed behind you would fire. This whole situation irked you. She was the one at fault, she was the one who attempted to fatally harm another Magic Knight. The end of the portal revealed the outside of the courthouse. Damnatio left with Cob not even moments after while you were forcefully led to the stand in the centre of the room, left to stand with the mages lining the outer walls of the room, wands still pointed at you. Did they really think you were that dangerous?
