"Are you ready, Zenon?" You pinched the bridge of your nose between your gloved fingers. You were losing your patience. Zenon exited his room, closing the door behind himself. He brushed off his squad robe, trying to straighten it out to make it look as perfect as possible. "I still don't understand, Vice-Captain, why did I need to wear my most formal outfit? I mean, I know we're going to see brot- The Wizard King, but I can't help but be confused. You still haven't even told me why he requested our presence." You looked at him through your narrowed eyes, "I don't need to explain to you." "R-Right" Zenon lowered his head. You'd noticed he'd changed a lot since Captain Anderson died. It was like he was turning back into the sealed shell he was before. The one that was scared to speak up.

"Let's go." You began to head to the front of the base where Cob was waiting once again. Zenon trailed behind you as he usually did. You watched him closely. His eyes were frantically darting around the halls, he held his arms closer to himself than normal, and was paying more attention to his surrounding than where he was walking. The mage from day before last must have really shaken him. More than you had realised or estimated. "Hey howdy doo, guys!" Cob greeted the two of you with a wave. You ignored him with Zenon greeted him politely with a wave, "good afternoon, Cob." Cob created a spatial portal immediately and the three of you travelled through it.

Coming out at the other end, you were steps away from Julius' office. "I'll be back in an iddy bitty bit. Have fun!" Cob waved you both off as he began to head down the hall in the opposite direction. You saw Zenon perk up at the sight of his brother's office. Zenon's connection and siblingship with Julius was far different from the one he shared with any of his other siblings. Julius loved him- genuinely loved him. The way he was. Ever since it was just Julius in that body, Zenon was more comfortable around him. He was finally able to have the time with Julius he should have had when he was a kid- the time that would have made all the difference in the world. Zenon smiled to himself as he waited for your directions.

You approached the doors, knocking. "Come on in!" Julius called out. You opened the doors, wide enough for Zenon to follow you through, then closing them behind yourself. "(Y/N), Zenon, it's good to see you both" Julius grinned happily. He was always such a child- you knew that would never change. You bowed to him slightly. Zenon didn't know what to do, so he just followed your lead. "Now, now, you two, you know you don't need to bow" Julius waved the both of your actions of with a nervous laugh. After all this time he still wasn't good with such respect being shown to him. "After all, today is about the two of you!"

Zenon tilted his head in confusion as he stood back upright, "about us? What do you mean, sir?" Julius' eyes widened and he looked to you, "you didn't tell him?" "Did you really think he'd come if I told him? It'd be a pain." You stated monotonously. "Vice-Captain? What's he talking about? What's going on?" Zenon began to question you; his tone of voice worried, "did I do something wrong?" "No, of course not. Calm down, Zenon" Julius stepped in. Zenon took a few deep breaths to calm his racing heart. He didn't like the thought do doing something. He didn't want to anger anyone, intentionally or unintentionally. "Are you going to tell him, or shall I?" Julius looked to you, and you shrugged. You didn't care.

"Well, you see Zenon, Ofelia left a will in Damnatio's care before she died." Zenon nodded along in understand, urging Julius to continue. "And she requested (Y/N) be named Captain of the White Wolves if she died." Zenon's eyes lit up like Christmas lights, "that's amazing!" He turned to you, "I'm so glad! There isn't anyone more suited to be our Captain." You just stared at him before turning away. He was being awfully affectionate for someone so off. "Well, as you know, as a Captain, (Y/N) needed to pick a Vice-Captain. You see, he gave me an answer before I could even finish my statement. " Julius chuckled. He found your actions that day amusing. "And well, the person he chose as his Vice-Captain was you. Which is why you're here too."
