Daryl had the fire going as I made my way down the stairs with an arm full.

"What the heck ya got now?" He mumbled as I set the box on the recliner.

"Music." I smirked as I put newer batteries in the back. Daryl skimmed through the CD's until he picked out an album.

"Def Leopard fan?" I asked.

"Ya, something like that." He muttered. "Are ya?"

"Yeah. Grew up listening to them."

Daryl stood close as his eyes searched mine. He slowly leaned closer to me that I thought for sure he was going to kiss me. I closed my eyes and waited for his lips to touch mine but it didn't come.

When I opened them Daryl was walking to the door, "Gonna have a smoke." The door closed behind him as I let out a shaky breath. What just happened? I sighed out loud.

I set the Def Leopard CD into the player and turned it on. Placing the music player on the table by the recliner, I slowly turned the volume up. I grabbed the bottle of moonshine and took another swig of it.

The song started and I sang along, "Love is like a bomb, baby, c'mon get it on
Livin' like a lover with a radar phone
Lookin' like a tramp, like a video vamp
Demolition woman, can I be your man?" I danced with the bottle in my hand and continued pouring the liquid down my throat.

"Now c'mon, take a bottle, shake it up
Break the bubble, break it up
Pour some sugar on me
Ooh, in the name of love
Pour some sugar on me
C'mon, fire me up
Pour your sugar on me
I can't get enough
I'm hot, sticky sweet
From my head to my feet, yeah." I spun around and jumped when I noticed Daryl smirking at me while he leaned against the wall.

"How long have you been standing there?" My eyes widened as my face turned red.

"Long enough." Daryl chuckled. I turned to the CD player and turned the music down a little.

I awkwardly sat in the recliner as Daryl took a seat on the futan next to me. I took a sip of the moonshine in hopes I would feel less embarrassed.

"Ya better pace yer self with that." Daryl pointed at me before taking a shot of whiskey.

"I thought the point was to get drunk." I smirked at him.

Daryl shook his head and laughed. It was the first time I had heard his genuine laugh and I smiled at him.

"What?" He muttered.

"I think that's the first time I've heard you laugh."

"Don' get used to it."

I rolled my eyes and stared at the fireplace. The flames danced as they grew bigger, heating the cabin nicely.

"Ya have a nice voice."

I turned to him as he gazed at me. His blue eyes held a new emotion in them but I couldn't quite tell what it was.

"Thanks." I smiled.

We drank in silence as the CD player lightly played music.

"This is kind of depressing." I sighed. "Don't people usually play drinking games?"

Daryl laughed, "Ya suggestin' we play beer pong or some card game?"

"No," I frowned. "We could make our own game?"

"Like what?"

"How about one person asks a question and the other person can either answer it or take a drink if they don't want to."
