"How's Carl?" Maggie asked me. We both sat on the couch and sipped on tea while we chatted. I had just finished up talking with Carl and then came straight over to Maggie's to check on her. The chat with Carl went a lot smoother than I had initially assumed. I was relieved, to say the least, that he understood why I refrained from telling the secret. Carl even promised to not say a word until I brought the news forth.

"He's doing much better." I smiled at my friend. My eyes wandered to her hair that was now cut a lot shorter than it once was. It suited her. Enid had cut her hair just a few hours prior.

"I'm glad. I plan on visiting him soon. Figured there'd be a lineup of people outside his door." Maggie laughed lightly.

"Pretty much." I giggled. "Enid was there right after I left."

"I'm sure Rick gave them plenty of alone time together." Maggie winked.

"Mhmm. Pretty sure everyone evacuated the house just so they wouldn't hear anything." I joked. Maggie rolled her eyes as she took another sip of tea.

"Can I ask you something?" Maggie eyed me curiously.

"I guess so?" I said more as a question.

Maggie set her cup down and turned to face me better, "Remember when I first told you I was pregnant?"

"Vividly."

"Well, there's one question I was too afraid to ask you after you announced that you can't have kids.." Maggie trailed off.

"And?" I bit the inside of my cheek.

"Was it your choice?"

I set my cup down on the coffee table and cleared my throat, "I didn't have much choice in the matter."

"What do you mean?"

"I thought I was only going in to have an IUD placed inside me but it turned into an entirely different procedure." I sighed.

"You're sterilized?" Maggie's eyes widened.

"Yeah.." I frowned.

"Your ex made you?"

My jaw clenched as I nodded, "I should've just left him."

"For what it's worth I'm sorry." Maggie smiled sadly. "That's not fair to you at all!"

"If I had it my way I would've just had an IUD put in." I sighed. "I did want to have kids. Now, I'm worried what Daryl will think of me."

"Daryl will understand if you tell him."

"I hope so." I cleared my throat as tears threatened to spill. "So, what names have you two picked out?"

Maggie smiled, "If it's a girl we'll name her Beth. If it's a boy Glenn and I agreed on Herschel."

"That was your dads name, right?"

"It was." Maggie's smiled turned sad. "I sure miss him."

My heart broke for Maggie. Her and I both had lost our entire families. I quickly embraced Maggie in a hug and rubbed her back gently trying to soothe her.

"What are you ladies up to?" Glenn asked as he walked in the front door.

"Chatting. Catching up." Maggie grinned.

"I'm sorry to interrupt. I can come back later." Glenn smiled.

"It's alright Glenn. I was just on my way out." I grinned before hugging Maggie once more.

As I left I heard Glenn ask to listen to Maggie's stomach. I smiled at the couple. Maggie and Glenn were lucky to have each other. They were like true soulmates. I hadn't witnessed such strong and true love in a long time!
