I gulped as Negan circled me. I felt his eyes wander up and down my frame which caused goosebumps to rise on my skin. "Where have you been the past four years?"

"I don't see why that matters. I'm here now so let them go and take me instead!"

"Whoa, pump the brakes there hot shot! I will not allow that kind of tone. You hear me?" He shook his head. "You've seen what I've done to one of your compadres. Wouldn't want that to happen again, would ya?"

My eyes wandered back to the bloody mush of brains and skull mashed into the ground. Alexandria couldn't lose anyone else! I stepped closer to Negan and stood my ground, "I said, Let. Them. Go!"

"What makes you think you can make those sort of demands?" Negan held his bat near my head. If this was some sort of game of chicken he would lose.

"If I don't, then who will?"

Negan grinned and eyed me with almost a glint of pride in his eyes, "You've changed."

"I adapted."

"Didn't we all." Negan took a practice swing at my head. I suppose he wanted me to flinch but I refused to give him the satisfaction. My eyes never left his as each practice swing came closer and closer to my skull.

"Many of you may be wondering why I haven't killed this girl on the spot. She's killed many of us, shot Terry through the fucking neck like Robin Hood and even threatened me! Well, I've got news for you all!" Negan circled around me and eyed everyone including my group. "You remember that old dirt bag of a leader, Trevor?"

Many of the saviors nodded or replied 'yes'.

"You see this is his daughter! She is the one I've been searching for! And now that I have her I'm going to show you all what this lady deserves." Negan explained as he pointed the bat at me once more.

"Leave her alone!" Daryl spoke up.

"Excuse me? Was I talking to you?" Negan wandered over to Daryl. Dwight still stood behind Daryl and held him so he couldn't move. Daryl was already in rough shape and didn't have his normal strength to fight.

"Now, where were we?" Negan fiddled with Lucille.

"No!" My eyes widened as I stepped in front of Negan and held his arm. "My life for his! You can't kill him or harm him!"

"No Ruby." Daryl grumbled from behind me.

"Out of my way!" Negan glared passed me to Daryl.

"No! Look at me, Negan! Look at me!" I caressed his face with my hand and forced his chocolate brown eyes to connect with mine. "My life for his!"

Negan steadied his breathing as his eyes bore into mine. Every member of the saviors and Alexandria stared bewildered at us. Maggie seemed to be the first to understand what this meant as her eyes saddened even more. At this point I didn't care if my secret was evident, I just needed Daryl and the rest of my group to be safe.
