The warm water felt amazing on my skin as I scrubbed myself down. Dirt and dried blood cascaded down my body as I was finally able to scrub it all out. Maggie had left a razor in the bathroom which I gladly took and shaved myself in places that haven't been shaved since the outbreak! I must've stood in the shower for fifteen minutes before I felt satisfied that I was truly clean. I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in a clean grey towel.

The bathroom had become steamy from the amount of hot water I used. I wiped the mirror and stared at my reflection. My body had become more lean since the last time I stared at my reflection. My brown hair had grown so much! I combed out my hair and then brushed my teeth with the toothbrush Maggie left for me with some charcoal toothpaste. I delicately slipped on my lace undergarments as I felt up my soft bare legs. It felt so good to be shaved!

With the towel wrapped around my body I quickly walked over to my bedroom and shut the door. My clothes were dirty so I threw them in the laundry basket. I opened the dresser and found a pair of black jeans, a grey v-neck tank top and a red plaid button up shirt. I smiled as I put on the new outfit and then put on some clean wooly socks that were in my backpack. I grabbed a flask of whiskey I had taken from the cabin and slipped it into my bra. I then put on my boots, my fathers necklace, slid my katana over my back, buckled on my belt with my knife and then made my way down the stairs and out the front door.

The fresh air felt amazing in my lungs as I took in a deep breath. That was until I smelt the distinct scent of tobacco smoke. I turned my head to left and saw Daryl smoking a cigarette on the swinging bench.

"Hey." I said lowly.

Daryl looked up and eyed my body as he exhaled, "Cleaned up?"

"Yeah," I smiled awkwardly. "Definitely was in need of a hot shower."

"Mhmm." Daryl grunted. "What was it ya wanted to tell me?"

I sighed, taking a seat next to Daryl. "The reason why I was reluctant to come here."

Daryl stayed silent as he smoked his cigarette so I continued, "When my mother died we had her cremated. In her will she wanted to be buried next to my brother in the graveyard we passed the other day." I paused. "Deanna refused and I became very angry. My boyfriend at the time devised a plan that I ended up agreeing to. That night we drove here and shot up her and her husbands vehicles. We then trashed the outside of her house with eggs and toilet paper.

Someone had caught the license plate which was under my name and I was brought here to jail until my trial. Thankfully I was only given a warning but the reputation on my dads last name ruined his career of being a Hunting Guide."

"Well that was stupid." Daryl huffed.

"I know it was." I frowned. "That's why my last name was changed to Smith."

Daryls brows knit together in confusion. "What's yer actual last name?"

"Dorlano."

"Smith a middle name or somethin'?" He stomped out his cigarette.

"Or something." I whispered.

Daryl huffed as he leaned forward, "Why ya tellin' me this?"

"You deserve the truth." I licked my lips. "You deserve to know who I really am."

Daryl awkwardly placed his hand on my knee, "I know who ya are, Ruby. Doesn' change how I feel about ya."

"Thank you." I spoke softly.

Daryl grunted as he stood up and started walking down the steps, "Ya comin'?"

I smirked as I joined Daryl. We walked along the road until we came to Ricks house. Everyone in our group sat outside in a circle around a bonfire.
