My heart pounded in my chest as we all sat inside the church. Spencer called a meeting on Deannas behalf after hearing the news of the quarry and the group that posed a threat to us. More members of Alexandria joined this time as the three were supply runners. This consisted of Aaron, Sam and Ron.

"What are we going to do about the Wolves?" Barnes asked.

"We should be more concerned with the thousands of walkers that could be breaking through these walls at any second!" Rick argued.

"What do you suggest?" Aiden frowned.

"Six groups will work together to trail the herd away from Alexandria." Rick explained. "Abraham and Sasha will be team one. Team two will consist of Glenn and Nicholas. The third team will have Aaron and Sam. Team four will be myself and Morgan."

"I want to help." Gabriel raised his hand. My teeth ground together as I stared down the man.

"Me too." Carl stood.

"No." Rick shook his head. "I need you here."

Carl frowned as he marched out of the church.

"I will go!" I raised my hand.

"Doc said ya gotta take it easy." Daryl huffed from beside Rick. I narrowed my eyes at Daryl as Rick agreed with him.

"He's right Ruby. It's better if you stay here."

"I'll go." Jessie volunteered.

"Thank you. So Gabriel and Jessie will be the fifth team. That leaves Daryl to be the sixth on his motorcycle."

My mouth dropped as anger consumed me. They couldn't be seriously splitting us up like that! I huffed as I stormed out of the church and towards the houses. I jogged into the house and grabbed my quiver and bow before exiting out the back door.

"God damn it!" I cursed to myself, marching over to the wall. My eyes roamed the wall trying to plan a way to climb over.

"Were you cut from the teams too?" Carl asked from behind me.

"Yeah." I slowly turned to him. "Looks like we're stuck here."

"What are you doing?" Carl eyed me with suspicion.

"Trying to escape." I let out a frustrated sigh. "Need to burn off some of my frustration outside these walls."

Carl smirked, "Follow me."

Carl walked by me and towards the fence line. I trailed him until we came to a part of the wall which he took apart gently and crawled through. My eyes widened as I checked our surroundings before crawling after him. Carl then fixed the wall before we dashed into the forest. I released a laugh as we were now a fair distance away from the wall.

"What?" Carl asked.

"Thank you for getting me out of there." I smiled. "It feels good to have some distance from that place."

"You're welcome. Figured you needed it."

"How do even know about that part of the wall?" I adjusted my quiver on my back.
