The road grew bumpy as we silently sat in the rear of the big truck. My head leant on Daryls shoulder as I rested my eyes. We had been on the road for a few hours and everyone but Jesus tried resting.

"What the hell is that?" I overheard Rick say as the breaks squealed. I became fully alert as the truck halted and Jesus jumped out the rear.

"Yo Rick what's goin' on?" Daryl yelled.

"We got a crash ahead. Looks like it just happened!" Rick replied.

"This is one of ours!" Jesus said from the front of the truck.

Daryl, Glenn, Maggie and I followed the others around to the front where a car had recently rolled over. A huge blood trail covered the pavement towards the car that was flipped on its side. One walker reached out from under the car at us while another was embedded into the grill of the vehicle. Both snarling with their jaws gnawing at us. Smoke and steam came out of the hood as we searched around for any survivors.

"What the hell?" I whispered. Daryl held a shotgun out defensively as we scouted the area. I slid out my katana and copied Daryl's defensive stance.

"If this is a trick it won't end well for you." Rick pointed his gun at Jesus.

"My people are in trouble! They don't— we don't have a lot of fighters. I know how it looks, but I'll play it out. Can I borrow a gun?" Jesus' face was full of worry.

"No. We got tracks right here." Daryl pointed to the ground that trailed to a nearby store. The group migrated over to the store cautiously as Rick banged on the window.

"They gotta be in there." Jesus stood back as Rick narrowed his eyes at the man.

"We moving in or what?" I asked impatiently.

"How do we know this ain't firecrackers in a trash can?" Daryl walked around Jesus as he scoped out the store.

"You don't." Jesus eyed Rick with worry.

"We'll get your people." Rick lowered his gun and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "You're staying here with one of us."

"That's the deal." Michonne added. Jesus nodded his head.

"Will you stay?" Glenn asked Maggie.

"Yeah." Maggie agreed as she clutched onto her gun tighter.

"You too." Daryl muttered to me.

My eyes snapped to Daryls, "Where you go, I go. Remember?"

"Stay here with Maggie." Daryl stepped closer as he slid a piece of my hair behind my ear. "Please."

"Alright." I nodded as Daryl glared down Jesus.

"Y'all go. Just be careful." Maggie said as Daryl, Michonne and Glenn peered through the windows.

"Yeah. We're gonna be careful." Rick handcuffed Jesus' hands behind his back.

"Just hurry." Jesus muttered.

"You hear me whistle, you shoot him." Rick instructed us.

"We will." Maggie and I answered. The four of them disappeared inside the store as Maggie and I kept watch. I circled around Maggie and Jesus until I noticed my friend looked awfully pale.

"Are you alright?" I rushed to her side as she leaned against me.

"Yeah. I'm fine." Maggie hunched over. "Just nauseous."

Before I could ask Rick and Michonne came barreling out of the store followed by four others. Glenn and Daryl trailed out after as we all booked it for the truck. Once everyone was in the truck Rick took off driving right away. Jesus introduced everyone. Amongst the group was a doctor named Harlan Carson, an injured man named Freddie, a woman and another man that I did not get the names of.
