Before I know it, there's a knock on the front door. I know it is only Levi but still there are butterflies fluttering in my stomach. This is the first time I've had a boy over while there where no adults in the house since we had moved here. I had no reason to feel like this. It was Levi for Heaven's sake. He worked for my Uncle so that had to say something.
Slowly I open the door, finding him standing there holding two Dvd's and a bag of snacks. I glanced at the titles. Jaws and Cujo, ugh horror movies and not even recent ones. I thought of Jude's love for old movies much like these and had a little giggle. They both reminded me of the last movie night Jude and I had had. Levi raised an eyebrow questioningly. It was crazy how many things had been reminding me of Jude lately. I needed to snap out of it. He was the past and that is where he should stay.
"You going to let me in or do you want to keep me out here while you laugh at me?" he snickers, pushing past me anyway.
"I wasn't laughing at you." I tell him defensively. "You know I got movies here too."
"Yeah, I've seen Stew's collection." He flops down onto the couch and pulls a bag of crisps out. "Hence why I brought my own."
"Please, make yourself at home." I mock.
Levi gives me a wink. "Don't mind if I do."
I look at his movies, wondering if I can talk him out of watching these. "You know Uncle Stew has new releases then these."
"Lilly, I'm going to let you in on a secret. I like horror movies. I too have new movies then theses but I didn't want to freak you out so that you'd have to sleep with the lights on. I was being a gentleman and finding movies that are classic and not overly scary. Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen all the movies Stew has."
"It's slim pickings I'll admit, but still Jaws...Please, save me now. I'm sure there has to be something I can find that you haven't seen."
Levi throws me a look. "I seriously doubt that." He scoffs.
"Either killer shark or killer dog, the choice is yours. Unless you want me to go home?"
"What about Die Hard?" I panic, showing him the collector's edition. "It has guns, action and maybe even a bomb or two. Surely you haven't seen that."
Levi fakes a yawn, mocking me. "Killer shark or Dog, otherwise I am not to blame for what damage might be done. Who doesn't want to see a half naked chick getting eaten and then at the end, when the shark goes boom...ugh, just put on Jaws, Lilly." He orders.
I shake my head, "why did I invite you over?" I asked myself.
"Cus all your real friends are busy and you thought this might be the perfect night to get to know me better." There was a sexy crooked smile and wink at the end of his statement, which made me laugh.
"You're just a regular, old, lady-killer, aren't you?"
Levi leaned back into the cushions, dwarfing the couch. "Oh baby you got no idea." He replies, tossing a piece on candy in the air before catching it with his mouth.
"Grab the pop-corn out of the kitchen, will you." I tell him. Slowly he rises, letting out a groan of protest. "I'll have a soda too, thanks."
"Sure. But just so you know I'm grabbing a beer. It's how I do movie nights. You cool with that?"
"Sure." I shrug, not actually sure I did feel about it. I'd never really had anyone drink with me other than Uncle Stew.
"Cool. So do you want one too or you still want that soda?"
