"I got a call yesterday from the school Lilly, something about you not attending." Uncle Stew eye's me from across the table. I can feel my cheeks burn with embarrassment.

"It's a really long story."

"Long enough that it would tell me why you were in bed when I got home and also why there was whiskey missing." It's not hard to hear the disappointment in his voice.

"Uh, Uncle Stew, I'm real sorry." He looks at me, those blue eyes burning right though me. I wonder what kind of punishment he is thinking up. Not that I don't deserve it.

"Well, I told the school you were sick." He finally tells me. "But Lilly, I wont cover for you again. Got it?"

I rise from the table and hug him. "Never again, I promise."

"Oh," he releases from my hug. "Just so you know if, I ever catch you drinking my whiskey again, we will be having more then just words. In fact I am taking your car off you until I know you will behave."

My heart drops, however it isn't as bad of a punishment as I would have expected considering I can't use my mothers old car anyway. We sit in relative silence for the drive to school. He wasn't mad but Uncle Stew was still disappointed. I waited the whole drive for him to ask what I had been thinking, but he left it alone.

There's about twenty minutes until first bell and the parking lot is fairly empty. I notice Cayn's truck there but he is nowhere in sight. I decide to talk to Cayn so that we can break up without it being a huge scene. Instead I discover that Cayn, who has seized Levi's arm, is dragging him behind the gym. Quietly I watch them, studying their faces, Cayn is clearly not happy. That sick, twisty, unsettled feeling is sneaking back up on me. I've never seen Cayn look like this. His face is all cold and mean looking, I feel sorry for Levi. Not that I should feel sorry for him. Amy's strolls up behind me, clearing her throat loudly as if to announce her presence. I don't bother to turn; it wasn't as if we were friends.

"So, Lilly, what is going on with those two?" she asks after a little while.

"I don't know." I lie; better that then to admit my sins to Amy. "Maybe you might have an idea about what's going on. Did either of them say that they were having a fight or something?" I question knowing that Levi might have told her about the kiss.

"Hey I only got back late last night. Though, Levi did tell me that you and Cyan had a fight or something yesterday. Apparently you're not one for going past second base." Amy answers smugly as I scowl at her. "Don't glare at me, it isn't my fault Cayn and Levi talk, although I do find it admirable that you are still a virgin at your age. I thought I was a late bloomer at fifteen but you know...good on you for sticking to your morals and all."

I want to sock her in the mouth. Amy's studying me carefully, I can see she wants to say more, 'to add salt to the wound' as they say. I wasn't about to tell her why this had come about, hell, even I wasn't sure why they were talking like this. It probably had nothing to do with the fact that Levi and I kissed. Maybe they had some other issue to sort out.

"Why are you talking to me Amy, I mean, you clearly don't like me, so why?"

"Who said I don't like you? It's just that now you are here, you have upset the balance I tried to create and everything is different."

I looked at her confused, what balance could I have upset. "What are you talking about?"

"You don't understand, for years it has been just us. We were a great little foursome, me, Paige, Levi and Cayn. Then you come along and now, well, everything is changing and I just don't like it. You are taking the fun out of everything we used to do." She smiles at me "it is nothing personal though."
