Uncle Stew isn't happy with me, we spent the weekend arguing after I came home late on Saturday. I was excited to be going to school today even if that meant that I had to walk there. Today, Uncle Stewart has left for work early, a note informing me that if I thought it was ok to walk around town then it would be ok for me to walk to school. I scrunch up the note and toss it in the bin. I don't care if I have to walk because today was the day that all of Devil's Canyon found out Cayn and I were a couple.
I make it to the town square where I spot Tyler and Paige. "Hey Lilly are you walking?" Tyler asks
"Yeah why?"
"You better get a move on if you want to make it there by Halloween."
"Harsh" I declare.
Tyler chuckles "I've seen you in gym. You're not exactly going to be the next track star or anything."
"Please excuse Tyler for being rude, do you want a ride?" Paige offers which I am most thankful for.
"If you don't mind, I would love a ride. Thanks." She leads me over to a killer, bright blue, Corvette. I would have given both my kidneys and a lung just to drive it, let alone own one. Paige gives me a knowing smile.
"Oh my god! Please tell me your parents didn't get you this car."
Little glittery things hung from the rear view mirror as the radio blared some new pop song. This was totally a chick's car, I thought with a smile. Tyler ran up to the car, or at least, that was what I thought until I saw the motorbike next to it. I loved motorbikes. The smooth lines that looked angular but sleek helped to support the impression that it was ridiculously fast, calling to my inner speed demon that this motorbike wanted to play.
"Hey. You wanna race Paige, I bet for all your horsepower I could still wipe the street with you. That is unless you're chicken Paiggy." Paige shakes her head, rolling her eyes.
"As if I couldn't beat you Ty. Man, didn't anyone ever tell you four wheels are better than two. Oh and let's not forget it's safer too."
"As if, safer my ass. One of these days Paige I'm gonna take you for a ride and then we'll see how you feel about bikes."
Tyler picks up the jacket and helmet putting them on. The bike's engine roars, the back tire squealing, kicking up rocks just before flying down the street. I was surprised he could actually keep the machine under control.
Paige was a surprisingly cautious driver considering the car she owned. Arriving at school I noticed Cayn's already there, Tyler and Levi are with him. Amy was nowhere in sight and I couldn't help but to feel happy about her absence. He didn't even give me a chance to get out of the car before he came over wrapping his arms around my waist. This was the best morning ever.
"Wow, nice to see you guys have finally arrived, I was about to send out a search party." Tyler mocks. "So you guys are an item, I take it then? Jeez Cayn you don't move slowly, how are us lesser guys to have any chance?"
"You never stood a chance." Cayn laughs. Paige just flips him the bird.
"That's harsh. I only got one on one time with her during gym and that wasn't enough to show her my ultra swag moves."
There was tension in the air. I know Tyler is joking but Cayn seems to be really offended, his grip on my waist tightening almost to the point where it hurt.
"Pretty sure you don't have any swag moves." Paige jokes, giving Tyler a gentle nudge with her elbow. He doubles over feigning pain.
"I still have a faster bike." At the insult Paige pushes him inside.
