Third Person POV

Erwin walked in the door with the bags of groceries and repeated his to-do list out loud.

Mikasa sat at the table that was parallel from the door, so she heard him loud and clear.

"Tell Eren he cant play games before bed, tell Jean to comb his hair, ask sasha to help prepare dinner and tell armin to wash dishes."

He looked over at Mikasa who was typing away on her phone. While he set down the grocery bags on the table he looked at her.

"Tell Mikasa to get off her phone...." He teased, looking at her.

She looked up and smiled her usual monotone smile.

"Dad wait, just look." Mikasa shoved her phone in his face.

Erwin grabbed the phone and raised an eyebrow.

"Im confused." He muttered, tipping his glasses.

Mikasa snatched the phone back and grumbled. "I texted everyone for you, so you dont have to go upstairs and do it yourself." She explained.

"You...did my to-do list for me?" He asked, wearily.

"Yes! See, Jean said 'on it', Armin said hes coming, he just needs to finish the chapter hes on,"

Erwin scoffed.

"Sasha-" Sasha came barreling down the stairs, shouting she wants to help cook dinner.

Mikasa pointed to Sasha and laughed, "and Eren sent an angry face."

"Like an emoji?"

"Yes. The angry face emoji."

"Well...how do I send a text?" He asked, pulling his phone out of his pocket.

Levi came down the stairs and intwined his arms around Erwin's right arm.

"Whats going on here?" He asked.

"I'm teaching dad how to text."

"What? That's stupid. He doesn't need social media, he has me. You'll get him addicted to his phone, Mikasa." Levi snapped, pulling Erwin into the kitchen.

"But Levi, she was able to do my entire to-do list just by texting!" Erwin tried to explain. Levi rolled his eyes and kissed Erwin's nose.

"You don't need texting. It makes you lazy and fries your brain. Texting makes you stupid." Then, much louder he shouted,

"It's why you have bad grades!"

Mikasa gasped and held her hand over her heart.

"I have all A's!!" She protested.

"Yet none of them are A+." Levi said very matter-of-factly.

Just then, Armin came down the stairs and went to the sink. He began washing the dishes and Sasha tetered to each side , anxious for him to be done.

Whenever Erwin let Sasha cook with him, he let her taste test it as long as she promised not to eat it all.

Levi chuckled and handed Sasha a lollipop to calm her jitters. Mikasa walked into the kitchen and began helping Armin wash the dishes.

Erwin began unpacking the contents and setting vegetables on cutting boards.

Levi laid his head against Erwin's arm. "What are you cooking?" He asked.

"Pot roast." He replied simply.

"Pot roast?" Jean asked while trudging down the stairs.

Mikasa pulled her phone out again and texted the family groupchat.

Everyone's phone chimed at once and startled Levi.

Mikasa explained to him that the sound notified everyone they had a text message, then she called him an old man.

The food was finished and everyone sat around the table.

Connie, Christa, Christa's girlfriend Ymir, Mikasa, Eren, Jean, Sasha, Levi and Armin sat down while Erwin set their plates in front of them.

"Sasha, eat slower." Levi muttered.

Jean put his elbows on the table and started investigating Christa and Ymir.

"Jean, elbows." Levi warned. Jean took his elbows off the table and awkwardly began eating.

Erwin sat next to Levi and patted his thigh. "No need to be so formal, Levi.." He whispered.

"But they-.. Mikasa! No phones at the table!" He shouted across the long, marble table.

Erwin chuckled as Mikasa frowned and put her phone in her pocket.

Mikasa finished first, and watched Erwin intently. Waiting for him to finish aswell.

When he did, he grabbed everyone's plate who'd finished and set them in the sink. Levi grumbled at this and immediately began washing the dirty dishes.

Mikasa grabbed Erwin's arm and dragged him to the living room. "Come on, I'll teach you how to text!" She beamed.

"Mikasa no! You'll make him go stupid!" Levi complained, too glued to the dirty dishes to pry Erwin away from Mikasa's grip.

Mikasa taught Erwin how to start conversations, how to use abbreviations and emoji's, and how to name your contacts.

Of course, Erwin has texted before, but only in the family groupchat. And he talks with hashtags unless Levi is next to him to tell him not to.

Mikasa heard a tapping noise and looked behind the couch her and Erwin sat on.

Levi tapped a wooden spoon in his hand and glared at her.

She ran up the stairs, Levi close behind her.

Moral of the story: don't teach your dad how to text.
