Erwin's POV

His face was so much clearer to see now. I can't help but have my mind wonder on whether he has a girlfriend or not. He's perfect, totally my type. But he's a peasant.

My Grandfather sat between me and my father. He respects my Father gravely, because he doesn't know what he did to his daughter. My Grandfather, my Mothers' Father, owns another Kingdom. This Kingdom is known as the Whisper Kingdom. They supply us with soldiers and money, and they adore my Kingdom. He smiles at the peasant as he sits down.

"What is your name, son?" He asked. He's obviously putting on an act because he knows I've taken a liking to the raven head.

"Levi." He spoke.

I was shocked, his voice is so deep. I never would've expected that from someone his size.

"Levi, Levi what?"

"'Scuse me?"

"What is your last name, Levi?" My father interrupted my Grandpa quite rudely.

"I do not have one." He replied simply.

"Well, everyone has a last name. What was your father's last name?"

"I never knew my father."

"Your Mothers'?"

"She never spoke to me."

"Do you have any older siblings?"

"Nope. Just two younger ones, waiting for me to return." He tapped his fingers on his legs and pursed his lips.

"I see. And where did you live before now?"

"In the underground. Don't have a specific home, you could say I'm homeless." He tugged at his gloves nervously. He's lying.

As my Father speaks with Levi, I can't help but get more and more pissed off. He speaks to him like how he spoke to my Mother. I remember the day she died, and his last words to her. They weren't 'i love you' or 'i'm sorry'. No, he said she should have listened. He killed my Mother, and he's using the same fake tone he used on her with Levi.

Levi was quite satisfied with how clean the palace was, but it wasn't clean enough. He immediately got to work and began sweeping dust off of the grand piano in the throne room. As he was cleaning, someone wearing a green uniform approached him.

A green. Levi thought averting his gaze to the woman with ginger hair. She kind of looked like a leprechaun, with her outfit, hair and height. She was accompanied by two yellows and another green. She was shorter than Levi and kept attempting to talk to him. She was sweet, but Levi was simply too tired to have a productive conversation with her.

Eventually, she left and Levi continued cleaning the throne room when Erwin, the Prince, walked in. Levi immediately stopped what he was doing and bowed, looking up to face his Prince.

"Stand up, Levi." He said.

That was the first time someone here referred to him as anything other than 'blue'. He stood and looked up at the Prince, his hand still over his heart out of respect. Erwin smiled at him and took his hand. He lead Levi out to the garden, where a giant statue in the shape of an angel stood. Levi looked closer and realized it was a tombstone.

"This is where my Mother was buried." Erwin spoke softly.

Levi looked at him in confusion. Why was he telling him, of all people, about his dead Mother?

"Oh, my apologies." Levi muttered.

"She was murdered." Erwin cut him off.

"..By who?" Levi couldn't help but be curious.

"My Fahther. I'm telling you this to warn you. Don't let him get you alone, do you understand me?" Erwin warned, walking off before Levi could answer.

Levi stood there in shock, uncomfortable from their strange encounter. He shivered and jogged back inside the palace before Erwin could turn around and say something else.

Levi fiddled with the key to his dorm nervously. He was told he didn't have any roomates yet, which was perfect. He locked the door once he was inside and immediately went to his room, taking his uniform off and folding it neatly on the bed. He began placing pillows under the blanket and opened the window. He climbed out and left the window open a slight crack. The palace had terrible security, as no one would ever dare mess with the King, or so they thought ofc. Levi slipped out with ease and ran back to the underground.

He had full intentions to come back, he simply wanted to see his siblings just once more and tell them he was alive. He went to his old home, but his heart cracked when he realized no one was there. Scenarios ran through his mind, what if they were dead? He started searching all of their hiding spots, but it was no use. He finally gave up and walked out the door. As he looked to the side, he saw Farlan and Isabel running straight towards him. Isabel got there first, tackling him to the ground. Farlan arrived second, hugging both of them tightly.

"Fuck man, where have you been??" Farlan questioned annoyedly.

"I was caught. I'm sorry but I must go back." Levi said, refusing to look his siblings in the eyes.

When he finally met their gaze they looked at him with horror. Isabel had tears pricking at her eyes and Farlan did aswell. Levi kissed both of their foreheads and hugged them one last time  before handing them the bread and water he'd snagged. They went inside the abandoned house and waved at him, smiling slightly. He waved back and ran back for the palace, trying to push his siblings terrified face to the very back of his mind.

(in the back of my minddd)

When Levi arrived back to the palace, he climbed up a vine to his dorm room and opened it. Nothing was disturbed so he was sure no one knew he had been missing. He plopped on the bed and shut the window, then gasped as the light turned on. He was expecting to see the red that had captured him, or maybe even the King.

But no, it was neither of them.

It was the Prince, and he didn't look too thrilled.
