Levi's POV
I'm surprised to find out that the scream that halted the entire party didn't come from me. No, it came from a tall woman instead. She was gorgeous. She had long, curled black hair that fell to her elbows. Her lips were plump, stained red with lipstick. She wore a red dress, one of those silky, but tight ones. She was right behind us with a wine glass in her hand, decorated to match the event. Everyone is staring at us now, and my apparent boss removes his arm from around me subtly.
"What did she just say?" The woman asks, staring me up and down like I'm the scum of the Earth. I felt so small compared to her, but I kept a cool demeanor and stared her down right back. She eventually broke our little glare battle and looked at him shyly.
"I said, 'you're hanging out with our boss?'" Hanji replies quickly, completely saving my ass. The way Hanji said it made it seem like it was obvious they said that, and it clearly embarrassed the woman.
Her face flushes red and everyone else eventually resumes what they're doing. She puts her hair over her face a little and hands the wine glass to him.
"Here I..I got this for you." She mutters, looking at the ground and walking away quickly.
"The fuck was that all about?" I ask, glaring at him and wondering if that was his girlfriend or something.
"Ah, she's had a crush on me for a while now. It'd break her heart to see me with someone else." He explains, sloshing the wine around in his glass. I grab it from him and down it in one swig.
"Then she sure as hell isn't giving you any drinks." I say, giving him the cup back.
Hanji starts giggling hysterically and Moblit drags them away as me and this guy stare at eachother. And then it hits me.
I still don't know his name.
"Levi, let's go somewhere more quiet, yeah?" He says, gently grabbing my wrist and guiding me upstairs, away from the party. Moblit and Hanji followed us with a few drinks. They set them down, winked at eachother, then said they had to head back to the party with devilish grins on their faces. Weirdos.
I grabbed one of the drinks and sipped it before setting it back down, shifting my gaze to the tall man. He looked at me with an unreadable gaze before breaking eye contact and going to sit in a rolling chair. I grabbed my own chair and although there was an awkward atmosphere, I broke the silence as he reached for his own cup of alcohol.
"Please forgive me but I, I can't seem to remember your name." I say sheepishly, clinking the ice in my glass to avoid his lust-filled stare. He chuckles a little before rolling his chair closer to me.
"Erwin. My name is Erwin Smith." My heart falls to my stomach as all my fears are confirmed, this man is in fact, my boss. I fucked my boss.
He brings his hand up to my cheek and cups my face. I look at him annoyedly, feeling like a child in his grip. I almost pull away from him. Almost. He begins to lean in, pulling my face close to his. Our lips are inches away when I press my hands to his chest.
"Erwin we..we shouldn't yet..I don't know you that well." I say, turning my head. He had still been leaning in when I turned my head, so his lips end up inches from my neck when he stopped himself.
"That's alright, Levi." He says as he begins to caress my cheek. He presses a soft kiss to my neck before pulling away and I swear I almost died right then and there. He laughed at my embarrassed reaction lightheartedly.
"My apologies, you just really seemed to like having your neck kissed when we had se-"
"I get it!" I cut him off, quickly putting the burning liquor in my mouth to better hide the blush on my cheeks.
I look at his smiling face again, he's so understanding and it's killing me. I can tell how much he just wants to kiss me right now but he won't, all because I said I didn't feel ready. And honestly, I don't even know if that's true. I do really want to kiss him.
Before I can stop myself I stand, embarrassed how we're only the same height because hes sitting right now. I get closer to him and place my hands on his shoulders, licking my lips as he wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me closer. I instictively travel my hands up to wrap around his face and stare down at his blue eyes. We lean in until our lips press together, sparks flying in the air like a damn cartoon.
He bites my lower lip softly and I open my mouth, his tongue immediately sticking inside and exploring mine. I try to hide the small sounds that leave me, but I know he's heard them. The alcohol is making me more loose than usual, and all walls that I built have long since crumbled.
We pull back and I stare at him, the way the alcohol he drank puts a slight tint of blush on his cheeks. The way he looks at me is driving me insane. And as if another power has taken control of my body, I climb into his lap and straddle him. He lays back and stops me as I lean to kiss him again.
"Levi, you're drunk. Come on, let's go home and get you sobered up. Maybe we can watch a movie." He says the last part under his breath.
"Wha- I'm not, drunk. I know what I'm doing and I-"
"Levi, you're not in the right headspace. You'll regret this in the morning."
What? Is he serious? So what I had a few sips of alcohol- I know what I want. It's not like I'm lightweight or something.
I don't have time to protest because he's suddenly pulling me off his lap and guiding me to his car by my arm like a damn child.
Is this what rejection feels like? Or is he getting back at me for rejecting his kiss earlier and then crawling all over him like a hypocrite? Because if that's the case I swear I'm going to beat his-
"You're so pretty, Levi." He whispers, loud enough for me to hear, pulling me from my thoughts. I reluctantly sit in his car and he takes my hand in his then kisses it. He holds my hand firmly for the rest of the ride to his house. My heart melts and I look at my lap the whole time, avoiding his stare everytime we're at a red light.
Is this what people mean whenever they say, "it was love at first sight"?
