Isabel nearly pounced on Farlan, but Levi interfered. He gripped Farlan's bandaged arm tightly and pulled him back towards where they came from. He ran into a wall and backed up slightly before getting down, feeling around for the hatch. Isabel was already almost caught up with them when he finally found it. He tugged upwards, did everything he could but the door wouldn't budge. He gave up and got inbetween Isabel and Farlan as she snarled before him.

"Isabel calm down! We don't eat alive humans!! You know this!" He yelled at her. He could barely see their illuminated silhouettes, but the other zomheads were directly behind her. Levi could feel the hunger radiating off of them.

"Levi, Levi...you don't understand. We only left the humans in this complex alone because we'd be killed in a heartbeat. But now that this base has fallen...we don't have to listen to anyone." Isabel giggled.

"Isabel, I mean it. Back. Up." Levi threatened.

Now, if it was just Isabel, Levi could've easily taken her in a fight. Actually, he could definitely take all of them and win. He was very, very strong. But, he couldn't attack without blood splattering everywhere. And if that blood were to touch Farlan...

Levi had been so lost in his thoughts he hadn't realized all zomheads came charging at him at once. It was Marie who got the first bite, digging into Farlan's flesh. Isabel was next, and soon; Levi was watching as they ate Farlan. It was when Levi heard Farlan moan that he realized he was still alive. Talk about cruel.

Suddenly, the entrance to the attic opened. Light flooded in, and Levi could see much clearer. He shielded his eyes, and suddenly wished he had remembered to grab his eyedrops.

The zomheads fell through and landed inside a large fire. Someone actually set the complex on fire. Levi wanted to scream, but it was ripped from him as a few zombie soldiers poured into the attic. One helped him up and lead him to the keypad. They quickly entered the code and left with Levi in their arms. And if Levi weren't dead, he'd have fainted.

They arrived at a place Levi was familiar with. He'd been here many times as a kid, and now it was turned into a high-tech base. It was above ground, and the lights were dim. The sun had wretched at his skin and he was relieved to be in the shade once again. The zombie soldiers dropped him on a bed in a medium sized room. Maybe it was his. He stood up as soon as they were gone, but soon ducked behind the bed when someone entered the room.

"Levi, I know you're in here." The voice loomed.

Levi shot his head up at the voice, but he didn't reveal himself. There was a deep sigh before the person rounded the corner of the bed. Levi's heart began to beat when a naked Erwin stood before him. Levi avoided looking at his groin at all costs, and Erwin could hear his heart beating as it sped up. Erwin laughed and quickly dressed himself. Levi licked his lips and grimaced at how dry his tongue was. Erwin passed him a file for his teeth and some eyedrops.

"You made it here a bit later than I thought you would. Did many zombies stop you?" Erwin asked, sitting next to Levi in casual clothes. Levi felt his stomach melt, seeing Erwins' physiche through his tight clothes was attractive to him. He was used to seeing Erwin in his baggy lab coat. This was new to him.

"Hello? Levi?"

"Sorry!" Levi snapped out of his trance. "I went back to the base because....I heard screaming." He said quickly, feeling like a rabbit trapped in a lion's gaze. He thought to himself about that. When he was alive, he didn't care about anyone. He saw a kid fall and die, he kept running. Ever since he witnessed his cousin die, it was like his only mission was to save everyone. To save humanity.

Erwin's features darkened, then shifted to confusion. Once he seemed to figure out his confusion he cursed under his breath, as if he remembered something he forgot to do.

"Why would you do that? I told you not to." Erwin asks, softly. Levi almost retorted rudely, but something about Erwins' gaze made him crumble.

"I was worried about the other zomheads." Levi admitted.

"Ah. I see. Where are they?" He asked. Levi wasn't a fan of all these questions.

"They...made it out. But they didn't want to see you, something about finally being free." Levi lied. He didn't want to tell Erwin the only other zomheads were now dead. Erwin didn't seem bothered by this information at all. He carressed Levi's cheek, and Levi was thankful Erwin filed his nails down to a stub. Levi suddenly remembered moments before he and Farlan went up the stairs, and what ultimately led to his death.

"Hey. You shot me." He blurted out. Erwin seemed to stiffen at his words.

"That was you?" His calm tone dissapeared. "I'm sorry Levi, I didn't know you were still in the complex. Otherwise I never would have released the-" He stopped talking. Levi could feel tension rise.

"Released the what?" Levi asked, dreading the worse.

"Nothing. I never would've shot at Farlan if I knew you were with him." Levi coiled down before Erwins' words processed in his head.

"You shot Farlan willingly?" He asked, anger raising in his voice. Erwin stared down at him before turning his head and staring somewhere else.

"What the hell, Erwin?"

"I know it sounds bad, but he had to go. He was a human."

"So??"

"So, humans are bad. All of the problems in the world would never happen if it weren't for humans--. War, racism, global warming, rape--you name it, humans caused it." Erwin said softly, returning his gaze to meet Levi's.

"That's why I created the zombie virus, and released it once my mind reverted back to conscious." Erwin explained. "I also...released the zombies being held in the complex. That's why I wanted you to leave and not return." He expected Levi to understand. What he didn't see coming was Levi kicking him, sending him flying off the bed. However, he did not fight back.

"Fucking sicko. You murderer!" Levi shouted.

He got down on Erwin, straddling his waist. He curled his fist and cringed, remembering his sharp nails. He opened his hand and bared his nails, ready to tear through Erwins' flesh. Erwin simply grabbed his wrist and tossed them over. He hovered inches above Levi. It was at this moment Levi calmed down, knowing he could not overpower Erwin. He stood and sighed, helping Levi to his feet.

"Levi, please understand what I'm trying to do here." He begged, hands wrapping around Levi's waist. Levi felt as if his body was not his own, and succumbed to Erwins' words. He wasn't sure why his body wanted to listen to Erwin, but he wasn't complaining.

He tilted his head up to stare Erwin in those deep, blue eyes of his. They both stared in each other's eyes, shifting their gaze to the other's lips and back.

"I..." Levi attempted to swallow, old habits die hard.

Levi couldn't finish his sentence because Erwins' lips were on his in seconds. Sometimes he forgets how fast zombies are. He kisses back quickly, feeling the coldness of Erwins' skin against his. They can't get very far, being zombies and all. But they get the memo that they like eachother enough to make out.

"Jeez, now I know why I caught you staring at my ass." Levi remarks sarcastically.

Erwin doesn't have time to laugh because Hanji is bursting in through the room, startling them both. Hanji is breathing heavily and Levi can't help but feel slightly jealous. Since he's dead, he can't breathe.

"The vial of sina-16 has gone missing!" They shout.

Erwin's blood runs cold.
