Waking up from my nap in my old bed, I turned over and checked my phone's notifications, not seeing anything that particularly interested me. It's two thirty which meant Vic would be out of school soon. Since I'm thirty weeks into my pregnancy I no longer go to school. Instead I've switched to online school and I wish I would've sooner because the work is so much easier. While Vic is gone at school I went to Aunt Jennifer's just so I wouldn't be lonely. Although Vic and I had gotten settled in our place, I wasn't comfortable enough to be there by myself all the time. I pulled myself from the warm covers of the bed, and used the restroom before heading downstairs. Immediately the smell of food hit my nose, I'm so thankful for my mom. Normally when she's here alone she makes herself lunch but since i've been here she always made some for me too. "Whatcha cookin?" I made my way into the kitchen and over to the stove. "I'm making noodles, I have bread baking in the oven as well," she said, giving me a smile. "Try the sauce, this is my first time making this recipe. I'll make it for dinner if it's good enough," she scooped some up in a plastic spoon and handed it to me. I blew on the creamy sauce before taking a bite out of it. Flavors of garlic and onion herb erupted in my mouth causing me to hum. "That's so good!" She smiled proudly, mixing it once more before putting the spoon down. "It'll be done in about five minutes if you want to, go ahead and sit down." I was thankful she said those words because my back was already starting to hurt.

I would be lying if I said I didn't feel like a blimp. With the babies getting bigger I was really starting to feel the pressure on my body. I grabbed a drink before sitting down at the table with a small sigh of relief. Mom and I were making small talk as I suddenly paused feeling a sudden tightness in my abdomen with an almost burning pain. "Are you okay?" Mom furrowed her eyebrows. It only lasted for half a minute and I was able to answer her, "I think? That was an uncomfortable feeling."
"It might've just been a braxton hick then." She said, placing my plate down in front of me. I almost forgot I was going to experience those. It's my body's way of preparing itself. It was crazy to think that in about two more months I will be bringing the triplets into the world. This whole experience has been a wild ride so far, so I'm hoping that their birth goes smoothly. "That would explain it huh? I'll keep an eye on them," I said.

It was another hour when Justin, Jaime, and Vic had arrived. Vic and I were cuddled up on the couch. All four of us sat in the living room catching up on things that happened at school. "Do you want to stay here or would you rather go home while I go to work?" The man asked as his fingers ran through my locks gently. "I could go home, I know you'll be ready to rest. Plus I started a new game and I'm genuinely interested in it," I explained. "It's the one with that adorable orange cat and the robots right?" He asked. "Oh I heard of that game! You're playing it? Is it really as beautiful as I've been hearing?" Jaime asked. I nodded, "Heck yeah! The graphics are beautiful and the antagonists aren't super hard to beat. And that's saying something considering I'm normally bad at games." That caused Justin to chuckle chiming in, "Me too." Jaime said, hugging Justin. "I know what I'm buying when I get home!" That sent Vic and Jaime on a tangent about a new mystical game that was supposed to be coming out soon. I listened laughing at how riled up both of them would get. Eventually I found my phone though because I couldn't understand a thing they were speaking about. I assume Justin felt the same way because he was doing the same thing I was.

Everyone was pulled from their current activities hearing a glass break in the kitchen before hearing Mom yelling. "What?! How could he escape?!" Those words made my heart drop. There's only one person she could be talking about. With Vic's help I stood from the couch and waddled into the kitchen. There was glass right by mom's feet, it looked like it was a cup she dropped because there was a puddle of tea as well. "Fuck..okay thanks, see you soon." As she hung the phone up she let it fall to her side. "What happened?" I asked in a nervous barely audible voice. "Your dad escaped, and they have no clue where he is. Detective Gunn is coming over to discuss what the next moves are." With misty eyes she began to clean up the glass that was everywhere. That was the last thing I wanted to hear about. Does that mean he's coming for us? I can't handle that right now, not with my babies so close to being here. "What can we do?" I asked, trying to level my breathing out. "I wish I knew Kellin, I guess we'll find out when officer Gunn gets here." I nodded, backing out of the kitchen and into the living room. "What happened?" Vic and Justin asked simultaneously. "My dad escaped prison. They don't know where he went. How does someone escape prison now-a-days?? Why weren't they watching him??" My breathing became labored, my anxiety looming. Vic quickly was at my side, "We're okay right now alright? I'm not going to let him touch you." He led me to the couch and I sat down. "I thought it was over!" I blinked back tears, I almost felt like I couldn't breathe. Vic held my hands and got in front of me looking me in my eyes. "Breathe with me princess," he instructed and began doing the breathing exercises the class taught us. I nodded following after him and after a couple minutes I could feel myself calming down.

There was a knock on the door and Justin hopped up from his spot, "I've got it!" It was officer Gunn. "You can take a seat over here while we talk," Mom said, bringing her to the couch. I bounced my foot in nervousness as the conversation began. "As I explained, we don't know where he is. We're assuming that he's going to show up here so we're going to have two officers watching your home." She explained. "Kellin doesn't live here anymore so how does that work?" Mom asked. "We can also send a car to watch their place as well. I also want to mention that now would be a good time to switch up routines in case he could be watching. I never want that to be the case, but we don't know what's going to happen with this situation. He's even run away with one of our guards so he's with someone who knows what they're doing." I chewed on my bottom lip shaking my head. I would say I wish this were a dream but then that'd mean it was in the cards for me anyway. "There's already a car outside, so I'll be sure that Kellin gets another to go home with tonight."
"Thank you." I muttered. That was the end of the conversation so it wasn't very long before she was walking out the door. Just as I felt free of worry, something else had to happen.

I sigh sitting up in bed using my pillow as support. This was the third time I've woken up tonight. Not only am I still shaken up over the news from earlier while also feeling uncomfortable, but now I have the babies waking me up with their movements. I'm happy to feel them moving about but I really needed sleep. I was becoming exhausted waking up every hour. I grabbed my phone while scrolling through TokTic, smiling at some of the videos. Vic rustled in his sleep before putting an arm over me, causing a soft smile on my features. At least he's sleeping well, he still has school to get to tomorrow. He noticed I was awake so with a groggy voice he asked, "You okay?"
"I'm alright, the babies woke me up," I explained with a sigh. "Maybe I can help get them to calm down for you?" He said sitting up. "Oh- I don't want you to get up babe. You were sleeping soundly," I told him. "And you're not. You've had a crazy day today, you need it too gorgeous," He grabbed his guitar. "How about Burn the Night Away?" He asked. That is a beautiful song, why not? "I like that one," I smiled, running a hand along my belly. He put his hand on my tummy leaning down saying, "Okay little ones, we've gotta give mommy a break just for tonight yeah?" He began to play and after the first verse I couldn't help but sing with him softly. It seemed as if that were enough because after the song was done, the babies were still. "I think it worked," I said with a soft smile. I just need ten minutes to get back to sleep. "Thank you," I told Vic as he put his guitar away. "Of course my princess. Now come here to me," He said, laying down and opening his arms. Laying down myself I let my head rest on his chest with a soft smile on my features as he tightened his arm around me. After I got comfortable practically using Vic as a body pillow, it took me almost no time to give into the peaceful darkness of sleep.
