Why out of all days did he have to be here? The babies haven't even been out for twenty four hours yet. I was so weak, how would I fight? "I will admit. They are cute." His voice was low as he spoke. "Put her down!" I demanded. I need to grab the phone to call the nurse. "Kellin. Do you really think you can own four children? Especially by yourself now. She needs to go to a good home," he said. "I'm not alone. How did you even find my room?" I said as I grabbed the remote to call the nurse. Next thing I knew Wade turned and ran right out of the room with Amelia still in his arms. I wasted no time in moving to stand on my feet causing me to wince. As fast as my legs would allow I ran after him, the long hallway actually managing to be empty. Of course when I really needed people there weren't any. "Help!" I yelped as I tripped over my own footing. The man ran rounding a corner so they were out of sight and a sob made its way from my throat. I tried to stand but I was still weak from painkillers. "What's wrong??" A nurse ran over to me. By this time other nurses were peering their heads out of patients rooms to see what commotion was going on. "He stole my baby!" She yelled codes that I couldn't understand while she helped me up. Another nurse had alerted the rest of the clinic and I couldn't keep my tears from falling. "Don't worry they're gonna lock this place down before he can leave," The nurse told me in a gentle tone. I was glad to have an extra set of eyes guiding my way since I could barely see through my tears. What was he going and what was he going to do with my baby?

Once we had gotten to my bed I crumbled over it allowing my sobs to fill the room. I should've been able to catch them!  Just then Vic came rushing in letting our bags fall to the ground. "What happened?" he asked, seeing me in such a state and not seeing our fourth child. "T-took her," I managed to say through my tears. "Who?" He asked quickly, sitting down in front of me. "Wade!" Vic pulled his phone out and called the police. "The clinic's on lockdown, and there's only so many hiding places. They'll find him," the nice nurse assured to me. "I'm Regina by the way," she flashed a smile my way. When Vic got off the phone he tried to console me by hugging me, and telling me everything was going to be okay. "I don't want him to hurt her. She's so fragile," I sniffled, leaning into Vic's grasp dipping my head in the crook of his neck. "If they don't find him I'll go looking for him myself. I won't let him hurt her if I can help it," Vic told me, placing a sweet kiss on my head. "I should've been able to catch them," I muttered hiccuping. "You just had four babies, your body is exhausted," Vic told me. I need my baby back in my arms safely. "I don't know what he's going to do. He's crazy."

It had been a couple hours and we still hadn't heard an update on finding them. They speculated they must've been able to escape before the clinic was locked down. Not knowing where my child was was terrifying enough. To learn that they had possibly been able to get out is even more terrifying. I bounced Dean in my arms as he cried, I had already changed his diaper and fed him so I didn't know what was wrong this time. "What's wrong bubba?" I cooed softly while walking around the room. "Maybe this would be a good time to try one of those swaddling tricks?" Vic asked as he burped Ember. I grabbed the blanket the clinic provided, and laid the baby on the bed. I found the reference video I had, and followed the steps. After Dean was wrapped up and back in my arms, he finally began to calm down. I wondered if Amelia was okay. I hope he's not hurting her, I want more than anything for her to just be safe. "I wish there was something we could do," I mumbled, looking down at Dean. I wished to be that peaceful as he doesn't have a care in the world being too young to understand anything. "Me too baby, I'm about ready to start looking for them myself," Vic said, putting a sleeping Ember back in the bassinet. "If they've gotten away he couldn't have gotten far right?" I asked as Vic came and sat next to me on the bed. His arms went around my waist as he pressed a kiss against my cheek before speaking, "I hope so. I'll be pissed if he really managed to get out without anyone seeing him. How would that even be possible?"

I went to stand so I could put Dean back down, but Vic stopped me before I could move from the bed. "I'll put him back Princess, you should rest." I hadn't slept since I woke up earlier today, despite my body being as exhausted as it was. I've been spending time with the babies. That was going wonderful until Wade showed up, and now I can't sleep due to my nerves. "I would love to sleep, but I don't know if Amelia's okay," I explained as I passed Dean to Vic. "I'll stay up, if they come with news I'll wake you," he bargained walking over to the bassinets and I shook my head. "I just need to know something." A sigh made its way from his lips, and I could tell he was stressing out as much as I was. "If the damn hospital wasn't still on lockdown I'd go search for him myself." Frustration was evident in his words. "At least we'll be together when they find her." I was trying to keep as much hope as possible.

When there was a knock on the door before it opened my eyes immediately snapped up as my breath got caught in my throat. First a nurse came in before a police officer holding a bundle in a blanket. My hand went over my mouth as tears rolled down my cheeks. "Ameila!" The police officer came over to me and put her in my arms. My eyes scanned over her quickly, thankfully not seeing any sign of injury. Vic was next to me in an instant and I couldn't help my sobs as I held her close to my chest. "Where was she?" He looked at her intently cupping her head gently. "He had managed to hide on the roof. When we found him he was attempting to escape the premises," The officer explained. "We gave her a quick check up. Everything's okay, she might just be hungry." The nurse told me and I nodded, blinking, allowing the water gathering in my eyes to fall. I said, "Thank you so much for finding her. He's going to get a longer sentence now right?" The police officer nodded. I turned my head to look at Vic and he pressed a sweet kiss to my lips. I then looked down at Amelia who looked up at me with eyes like mine. I sniffled, kissing her head with a soft smile. "You're safe now. We've got you," I whispered. "That chapter can be closed now for good, right? There's no way in hell he's escaping again?" Vic asked the officer. The elder man nodded, "He will get maximum security now." A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I felt like I could breathe again. No more having to look over my shoulder all the time.
