Now they were all wrapped up in hospital blankets with the hats to match. I couldn't believe I had pushed them out of me, and it was all worth it. "I was thinking I really like the name Dean for this cutie right here," I looked up at Vic. "I like that name too, I think this sweet girl is our Ember," that was one of the names we had picked out for our girl. Now we had to think of another since we have two girls. We were thinking that Amelia would be a nice name for her. No matter their name they're all getting Vic's last name since I don't like what mine is associated with. "This is so crazy," Vic said right before putting Ember in one of the hospital bassinets. "I know..we have a really full house now," I said with a chuckle. "Yes we do," he nodded, sitting on the bed next to me. "I'm excited to do this with you. I know it's not going to be easy at all, but I know having you there will make it easier," Vic told me and placed a sweet kiss on my cheek. There was a knock at the door, and Vic answered for me. Mom walked in with a bright smile before gasping, "Oh my goodness." She walked over to the bassinet, not even seeing that I was holding three more. "You were bald when you came out, look at that head full of hair!" Jenna, Justin, and Jennifer all filed in after her. "Yeah that explains my heartburn right?" I chuckled softly.
"You look tired," Jenna said, coming over to me. "Can I pick her up?" Mom asked and I nodded. "Have you guys noticed anything yet?" Vic asked as Justin came over to me. "Notice what?" He asked before his face scrunched up in confusion. I could see him doing the mental math in his head as it clicked, "Wait- there's four!" I smiled seeing his excitement. I watched as Mom also mentally counted the amount of infants, her eyes then widening. "How??" Jenna asked, and I shrugged. "I was told it's a super rare occurrence, they didn't see her at all." I explained briefly. "You guys do have your hands full now. Just ask and I will gladly baby sit," Jennifer was examining the baby in Mom's arms. "Wanna hold one?" I asked Jenna, and all the color drained from her face. "Um- I do, I just don't want to break them," she said, playing with the hem of her shirt. "You won't break them," I laughed lightly. "Sit, I'll help you," Mom said. Jenna sat down on the couch and Mom explained to her how to hold the baby before putting her in Jenna's arms. "You're holding Ember," I told her sweetly before looking down at the babies as our unnamed boy stirred from sleep. "Do you have names for the others?" Justin asked. I scooped the baby into my arms and gently bounced him, "For this baby it's between Milo and Daniel, I like Milo a lot more though. For our second baby girl we chose the name Amelia." I answered before looking down at the baby boy. The baby made a grunt before a toot erupted from his diaper. I watched his features redden as another grunt sounded. "You sound just like your dad," I giggled softly as the baby calmed down, his face returning to normal. After a moment the stench punched my nose, who knew a human so tiny could already smell like a grown man? "Actually I think he made a surprise for dad!" Vic looked at me confused, "What?" A chuckle leaped from his throat. "Come find out!" I smiled. I had to keep my lips from curling into a mischievous smirk, he was oblivious! I passed Milo to Vic, and watched as Vic's nose scrunched up in disgust. That was the moment Vic put his first diaper on a real baby while Mom gently guided him through the process while also giving tips to make things easier next time.Amelia stirred and stretched before I saw her features scrunch up in discomfort. "Oh baby, what's wrong?" I cooed as I brought her close to my chest. Instinctively her mouth was drawn to my chest and I could tell what she wanted. I let my shirt fall off one shoulder while I attempted to latch her onto my nipple without a nurse's help. That was proven difficult as I struggled for a few minutes before she finally took hold. It was an odd feeling, but I knew I'd have to get used to it with three other mouths to feed. I have a feeling the breast pump I got from my baby shower is going to come in handy. "There we go," I smiled at the baby that looked up at me with eyes like Vic's and they held a hint of curiosity. All this was brand new to her. A soft smile pulled at my lips while I put my finger against her palm. Her grip was mighty for such a small being. I knew she was going to grow up to be someone special. My journey of carrying you four is over. Now it's time to start your lives. "I promise we'll do the best we can," I whispered, managing to lean down far enough to place a tender kiss against the softness of her dark hair. "Can I hold her once you're done?" Jennifer asked and I nodded.

I winced as I got back into bed. I've never been more sore in my life. My stomach also looked a bit deflated with a bump still left while my organs moved back to their place. I already missed all four of our babies being so close to me. How was I going to protect all of them now? They still haven't found my father, and with each passing day I get more nervous. Now that the babies are really here, I'm sure my anxiety will rise to the sky. At least I have a long while before they're old enough to leave my sight, and by then hopefully I will have taught them the dangers of strangers. I relaxed looking at each of our children that were asleep, and I was thankful. I knew the silence would become rare, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can. An arm was put around me as I settled into the hospital bed. I couldn't help but smile as Vic pulled me closer into his warm body. He hummed, pressing a kiss to the back of my shoulder, causing a soft smile to tug at my lips. I wish we could go home today and get settled in. I was already tired of the stiffness the bed provided. I wish I was engulfed in my own warm sheets.
There was a knock on the door. I answered, "Come in!" Dr. Montgomery walked in with a bright smile reaching her face, "How are you feeling?" She asked as she began to give me a check up. "Better, still insanely sore," I tell her. "Make sure you stay on top of your medicine. The pain you'd have would be worth it, I promise," she told me. After she was done with me she moved onto the quadruplet closest to her which happened to be Ember. Of course she was upset when the comfort of the blanket left her, and those cold hands were upon her once more. "I know I woke you up, I'm sorry," she cooed as she wrapped her back up in the blanket. "I wish we could leave now," I said more so to myself than anyone else. Dr. Montgomery answered though, "I know. It's best you guys stay, especially since we haven't been monitoring the fourth baby. Luckily though, everything seems normal," She explained. After she had gotten done examining Ember, there was no amount of rocking she could do to get her to calm down. "I'll take her," I said, extending my arms. Walking over to me she placed the tiny girl in my arms and I rocked her gently . This was enough for Vic to stir from his slumber. I began to hum the tune of the song Vic wrote for me. The man's voice was deep from sleep as he spoke, "Is there anything I can do?" Dr. Montgomery handed me one of the pacifiers the hospital provided. That managed to do the trick while I rocked her, continuing to hum.
Vic reached beside him grabbing his phone so he could capture this moment. Although I felt as if I looked like I just went through the ringer, I didn't protest. Hopefully he doesn't show those pictures to anyone. Not feeling like getting up just to put Ember back in her bassinet, I let her lay against my chest as I laid back down in bed. "My sweet girl," I whispered. "I still have to go back to the apartment to get the rest of our things," Vic began to run his fingers through my hair soothingly. "We have a couple days to do that," I tell him, turning my head to face him. "I just want to get it over with. I'll be gone only an hour at most," he said before pressing a kiss to my head. Vic stayed for about half an hour before he left to go grab the car seats, and other items we forgot on our rushed trip here. I had put Ember back in her bassinet before I allowed myself to rest again. I let my eyes shut, and almost immediately my brain was called into the blissfulness of sleep. The next I awoke, it was the sound of the door opening that had caused me to do so. Not opening my eyes I listened thinking Vic had gotten back, but little did I know that it was actually someone I didn't think I would see at the hospital. Since the person didn't announce themselves, I rubbed my eyes before squinting just to peek at who had come in. I gasped, my eyelids shooting up as my heart rate immediately sped. I felt all the color drain from my face as I pulled a silent gasp. It was Wade, and he stood holding my baby girl Amelia.
