My heart pounded loudly in my chest over the fact that today was really happening, I looked at myself in the vanity mirror provided by the dressing room my bridesmaids and I were in. My hair was down, curled like waves, with flowers pinned in my hair along with the gold sparkly veil on top of my head. My makeup was elegant yet natural with my eyes dusted gold in the center, the outer and inner corners a dark brown. My lips were lined with a dark red, and filled in with a lighter shade of red to give a fade effect. My cheeks were dusted with a natural pink, and highlighted with gold. The long sleeves of my baby blue dress was laced, leading into the gown's gorgeous embroidered lace corset that sparkled due to the jewels that lined the patterns. The bottom half of the dress was my favorite as my skirt was crinoline accentuating my figure with an blue to purple iridescent glitter overlay. I did want to be somewhat comfortable and since my dress touched the floor, I wore blue flats. My eyes flashed to my mother who walked into the frame of the mirror. A hand was over her mouth, her eyebrows knitted together while she squinted as if she were about to cry. "You look so beautiful." I could he the restrain in her voice as she held my bouquet in her other hand. "Thank you, don't cry Mom." I smiled softly, standing from my chair before turning to face her. "How can I not? My baby boy is getting married today, and he looks absolutely gorgeous!" Her words caused a smile to dance on my lips. It almost didn't feel real.
"Are you ready?" She asked and I nodded. "I'm very nervous though, I also hope the kids aren't giving Foster and Matt a headache," I laughed lightly. I could only imagine what they were getting into. I wondered if they had managed to keep their clothes and faces clean. I hoped breakfast would hold them over until the reception. Foster was my Mom's fiancé, and he was the exact opposite of my father. My father had blonde bone straight hair if he ever let it grow out and a clean shaven face always, whereas Foster had dark curly hair and even a neat beard to accompany that. The two had been together for three years now. At first I wasn't very inviting, but he proved to me that he loved my mom for who she was and that he wasn't anything like my father. Matt was his son, who was five years older than me and was almost an exact copy of his father minus the beard, and his hair nearly touched his shoulders. "I'm sure they're fine, the kids love them! They're probably having fun." She chuckled, handing me my bouquet that was decorated with white roses, hydrangeas, and lavenders, wrapped in a baby blue ribbon. "They're ready right?" I asked as we walked out of the door. "To my knowledge everything is in place." Besides the kids being fussy this morning everything is going according to plan. I almost can't believe I'm about to be married to my high school sweetheart. That was something I didn't think I would even have. Hell, I wasn't expecting to have a family already either. Before coming to San Diego I thought my dreams were only dreams. Who knew that my dreams would literally come true?
The kids were first to go as they were my flower boys and girls. They threw blue and white petals on the white velvet rug that lead up to the arch completely decorated with vines that held different types of flowers. The setting of the venue itself was surrounded by trees with a waterfall in back of the arch. The chairs gathered around were white and decorated with faux flowers. After our groomsmen and bridesmaids walked the aisle it was time for Mom and I to go. As Frozen by Sabrina Claudio began to sound on the speakers, with our arms intertwined Mom and I rounded the corner. The crowd stood, all of their eyes on me. With the rate of my heart becoming quicker I couldn't help but take a shaky breath. I've never had this much attention on me, nor have I dressed this way in public before. My eyes fell forward, and they caught Vic's misty ones. I watched as he threw his head back slightly as a bright smile tugged at the corners of his lips. That caused one to lighten my features as well as I could tell that I was the most beautiful man to him. When we were stood right in front of Vic, my mom gave me away to him. My soon to be husband held his hand out to me and I took them both as I stood in front of him. The man kissed my hand as a tear fell from his eye, and I let go of his hand just to wipe it gently with my thumb. "We gather here today to witness two people in love become bonded forever..." The ordained minister started.
