Chapter 9

Manik's pov

I woke up in the morning when I felt something on my hand, I slowly opened my eyes to find Nandini's hand in mine, she was shut stirring in her sleep which is what caused me to wake up.

Her lips were slightly parted and her hair was covering her face. I smiled seeing her nose shinny and her chubby cheeks.

I really wanted to move her hair behind her ear but I couldn't because if she woke up she wouldn't be comfortable.

Last night was a breakthrough for the both of us but especially nandini. She told me she wants me but something about her past is stopping her and honestly I am willing to wait even an eternity for her because she is all I want.

I hovered over her head and leaned close to her head until I was a few inches away and then I kissed the air right above her head. Even though I was kissing the air, I hope to one day wake up beside her and kiss her head for real.

Slipping my hand from hers, I showered and got ready in simple jeans and a random black t shirt.

"Shittt" I heard nandini's gasp making me look back from the dresser

"You okay" I asked seeing her wide awake clutching her chest

"Umm hmm" she hmmed

"Whats' wrong" I asked walking to her

"Um nothing" she said as she stood up walking to the bathroom

I knew she had a nightmare because the way she woke up is the same way cabir used to wake up with nightmares for. Good few months after he moved in with me.

I want to know the reason behind the nightmare but I'm not gonna ask yet, I need her to comfortable with me first.

I was on my phone when she came out in jeans and a flowly top, see now if it were the player me I wouldn't look twice not until I saw a little skin but with Nandini everything seems different. She looks beautiful.

"You look beautiful" I said standing behind her as she stood in front of the mirror

she shivered for some reason and curled her arms in against her chest

"What's wrong" I asked walking closer but she immediately ducked her head down as if she was protecting herself

"Baby what's wrong" I asked softly

"I didn't do anything I promise" she said and I was confused

"Nandini it's me, look at me baby" I whispered and she looked up instantly

She took a few minutes just looking in my eyes, I gently lifted my arm and moved it towards her.

"Come here honey" I whispered and she took a few seconds but then lifted her hands up to hold mine

She put her hand on my arm stepping to me slowly, she rested her head on my chest so gently, her arms fell on my sides

"Everything is okay, you aren't back there. You are with me. It was a bad phase nandini but you are safe now" I whispered

"I am scared" she whispered

"I know, but I promise there is no reason to be scared, you said you trust me so trust me to protect you"

"Manik" she whispered and I moved my hands up to her head slightly caressing her hair

"Im right here" I said and she nodded

Her hands slowly went up to my side clutching my t shirt in her tinny little arms.

We stood there for a while, it was long like more then half an hour but it didn't feel exhausting or tiring. I could honestly stand like this with her in my arms forever.

"Should we get some breakfast" I asked and she shook her head

"Chocolate" I asked and she shook her head again

"Okay then why does my baby want" I asked

"Dosa" she whispered making me chuckle a little

"Why dosa"

"Mumma and I used to have dosa a lot and I miss her" she said

"Okay little one, lets get you dosa" I said and she nodded in my chest

She pulled back and I smiled seeing how adorable she looked. She smiled a little at me when she saw me smiling.

She brushed her hair and put it in a high ponytail, some fringes fell on her face naturally framing it. Once she was all ready, she grabbed her purse and put on her sandals and walked to me

"Thank you" she mumbled reaching for my hand

"For what exactly" I asked holding onto her hand

"Everything" she said as we walked outside to the lobby

"Good morning chotu" cabir said as soon as we saw them

"Good morning bhai, morning navya" nandni said leaving my hand and walking to cabir and navya giving them a hug

"All good" cabir asked standing beside me

"Yup, better than good I guess" I said looking at nandini who was talking to navya

"Ohh in love already" he teased

"Shut it" I said and he hooked arm around my neck

"Breakfast kids, come on" the teacher said and everyone sat down.

I sat beside nandini, cabir beside Nandini on the other side and navya beside him.

I ordered some paranta and Nandini ordered dosa making me smile. She was talking to navya about god knows what. Her and navya are really good friends now which is good, she needs friends.

"Manik" she said turning to me

"Yes" I whispered

"Ap khaogai" she asked taking a bite of her dosa

"No you have it" I said and he pouted a little

"Okay give me a bite" I said and her face lit up

She fed me a piece with a smile, i smiled at her making her turn back to her dosa. I tried feeding her a peice of my paranta but she shook her head.

"Nandini finish it" I said seeing half of her dosa still there and she shook her head at me with fear making me realize it is something related to her past

"It's okay, we can have it delivered to our room okay then we can have it later in the evening when we get back. Is that okay" I asked and she nodded with a slight smile

I get her food packed and transferred upstairs to our room.
