"Why did she have to leave me?" I cried in his arms

"Nandini sometimes things don't make sense but it's life, it is supposed to be unfair. You know mom never wanted to leave you but maybe god needed her more because he knew that my princess is very strong and can handle everyhting. But you know what's a positive thing in this" he asked and I sniffled shaking my head

"You can look up and find her everywhere, she is all over the sky nandini, plus she is in your heart. You crying like this is going to make her sad now do you wanna make mom sad" he asked and I shook my head

"Then my princess stop crying and introduce me to herm I wanna complain about you" he said teasing with he last part making me chuckle a little

I looked up and smiled at that star, it made me smile when the star was shining bright.

"Mumma hiii, I miss you umm this is manik, you know everything right so I don't need to explain anything" I said

"Hi nandini's mom, I have to complain about your daughter" he said looking up and the star shined brighter making me gasp

"Seee she likes me, so your daughter and my princess cries a lot, yes yes ill take care of her umm hmm yes I will knock some sense into her don't you worry. Yes ma'am I got it, no ice cream for her" he said making my jaw drop

"Mumma he is lying, I don't cry, seee im not crying na, tell her na" I said wiping my face

"Yes she is not crying anymore right princess" he said and I nodded

There was a silence between us as we looked up at the stars.

"I love you mumma" I whispered after a while

"And she loves you too princess" manik said dropping a tiny kiss on my head

He held my hand in his moving them to his lips pecking them

"It's hard to deal with it I know, I can understand but im here for you and with you. I don't wanna see you crying, nandini you have such a beautiful smile but you smile very rarely, you giggle and chuckle but that smile I look for doesn't show up that often"

"I don't have a reason to smile manik"

"I promise to give you a billion reasons to smile nandini but will you let me?" He asked

"I think you have already given me a few" I said actually smiling for the second time today, first being when I heard him watching tv

"Is that so" he asked and I nodded

"Don't give up on me manik" I said and he smiled

He leaned forward and kissed my forehead making me close my eyes feeling his lips on my head.

"I will never give up on you or us nandini" he said

He pulled back and just looked in my eyes making me giggle

"Manik" I said and he hummed

"Manik"

"Yes princess"

"It's cold" I whispered and he smiled

"Lets go back" he said

I hadn't realized I was leaning on him still, he grabbed my hand walking back to the room and I am not joking when I say I was happy, I was happy after a very very long time and the reason was Manik.

"Here come the friends" we heard Bhai's voice as soon as we entered

"Hi bhai"

"Hi ki bachi, I texted you hours ago, where have you been" navya said
