Chapter 31

Manik's pov

Three weeks, it's been three weeks since she went back to her dorm and nothing makes sense in my life. I got o class, practice with fab 5 and thats it.

My dorm feels empty, it feels like I shouldn't be there, like I don't belong there. I know it's becasue I belong with her but how do I do this.

I miss her, I crave her presence around me, the little times during class when she is around is when I feel like I can breath but other than than im just a walking skeleton.

"Manik jsut talk to her" cabir said as we walked back from the dining hall

"About what cabir"

"everything"

"She doesn't trust me" I said

"Who said that"

"She thought I would rape her, cabir I fucking love her, and for her to think that. I can't get it out of my head. She thought I would hit her"

"It was all alia's words Manik, she said a whole bunch of rubbish to her"

"I get that but she believes it, she accused me of things without asking"

"You know her past Manik, you know what she has gone through"

"I know that cabir"

"Shit" he mummbled and I followed his gaze

She was sitting outside her dorm shivering, with her head on the door, her hand clutched the handle. I ran to her along with cabir.

"Choti"

"Bhai" she whispered with her eyes closed

"Whats wrong" he asked

"I - I can-cant't see" she said shivering

"Open your eyes" I said and she did as soon as she heard my voice

"Cabir take this" I said handing him her bag and keys

I picked her up bringing her into our dorms, I placed her on the bed and put blankets over her. She was ice cold.

"Can you see now" cabir asked while I grabbed a heated blanket

"N-no, I I can't" she whispers stammering because of the shivering

"Cabir grab me some chocolate from the fridge and that orange juice as well" he nodded running into the kitchen

I sat right beside her rubbing her hands which were starting o warm up becasue of the blankets

"Here" he said handing me the juice

"Open your mouth" I said and she did

I put the orange juice on her lips and she took a few sips moving her head to the other side.

"No, you have to drink more"

she shook her head making me sigh

"Open your mouth" I said sternly and she did

She sipped on the juice for a little bit, while I grabbed a thermometer and ordered some food as well.

"Choti yeh kya hal bana rakha hai tunai, maine tujhsai kaha tha na to take care" Cabir said

"I- I  tr-tried bhai" she said

"Open up, I need to check your temperature" I said and she did exactly what I said

I stuck the thermometer in her mouth, I noticed how drained and pale her face looked. She had these eye bags under her eyes.

She was breaking, I broke her even more. I didn't want to hurt her in my anger but instead I ended up hurting her so much more.

I didn't give up on her, I never would. I just needed time to understand how to deal with it but in this time I neglected how I ignored her. i always said hi to her but she is the one who initiated the conversation

She apologized that night but I couldn't say anything because I was really hurt, I fell to pieces when she said she was just a piece of meat and a fuck toy for me.

I took the thermometer out and saw she had really high fever, I looked at cabir who looked like he was gonna shit his pants.

"Can you do me a favour" I asked and he nodded

"Go to the chemist and get me some iron pills"

"Why"

"Her iron seems low, just grab them and some vitamins"

"Ill be back"

"Take navya with you and take the car" I siad handing him the key

He left after kissing Nandini's head, and I closed the door because he has keys.

I walked to the bed to find her eyes closed, her head laid back on the headrest.

"Open your eyes" I said and she did

"Can you see" I asked and she nodded slowly

"It's com-coming ba-back" she stammered

"Have you had any greens" I asked and she shook her head

"What was your last meal" I asked and she shook her head again

"Nandini"

as soon as I said her name, she started crying, she was wailing like a child who had lost her parents. I have heard her crying before and trust me it hurt so much but the way she was wiling right now scared me.

"Shh shh nandini calm down"

"Ma-manik" she cried louder

"Shh princess, I need you to breath, shh calm down. I'm not going anywhere just breath" I said caressing her back gently

She immediately leaned onto my touch, I pulled her closer and she grabbed onto my arm. Her wails didn't stop, they just got quieter as she cried in my arms

"Is she okay" I looked up to see navya and mukti

"She is okay" I whispered and Nandini grabbed onto my arms tighter shoving her face in my chest

"Manik here" cabir ran in with the things I asked for along with the food I ordered

"Guys, she will be okay just please give her space" I said seeing navya and mukti caressing her back

"What happened" mukti asked

"Mukti ill explain later, just please for now"

"Take care of her" she said and I nodded

Her and navya left along with cabir after her kissed her head.
