Jegulus is so sweet and fluffy and wholeso- kidding, it's angst, what else would it be

True to his word, nobody knew about Regulus's boggart. James had worked some kind of magic and just like always, and everybody believed him. But after the third night in a row, Regulus woke up screaming from a nightmare. Cold sweat dripped down his back and he couldn't breath. The first night this had happened, Barty and Evan had practically torn apart his curtains in panic. Now, there was a silencing charm around his bed.

He took several moments to himself, struggling to control his frantic breathing and he clutched handfuls of his bedsheets. However, the cold chill that filled his body didn't help him at all. Eventually, Regulus gave up and grabbed his wand, before leaving the room, silently. He didn't know how it happened, but he ended up padding into the Astronomy Tower, staring at the stars.

"I'm sorry." was the first thing he said. "I hope you're doing okay, Sirius. I'm so, so sorry."

He watched the stars twinkle and he let out a small sound, wishing desperately that his brother could be here. Regulus was so lost in thought that he didn't notice someone approaching from behind him.

"Regulus?"

In an instant, Regulus spun and his wand went up, aiming to the throat of the speaker.

"Woah, woah, it's just me. James." he said.

A flush filled Regulus's cheeks as he stepped back, lowering his wand as he struggled to look James in the eye.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

James shrugged.

"I needed some air so I decided to take a walk." he responded but Regulus could tell he was lying. "What about you?"

"The same." Regulus lied back.

"Oh. Cool."

Neither of them talked for several minutes as they watched each other. Hazel eyes met stormy grey ones as they searched for something to say. Regulus shivered in the cold, autumn air, something James immediately noticed.

"Here, take this." he said, pulling his jumper off and handing it to Regulus before the boy could react.

He stared at the jumper in shock for a few moments before hesitantly taking it. The chill turned his blood into ice but he didn't know if he should put it on. However, the earnest looking in James's eyes and the cold air made him slip it over his head.

"Thanks." he said, quietly.

The brown sleeves hung over his hands and the bottom went halfway down his thighs. James gave a nervous chuckle.

"It's Moony-I mean Remus's. He's a lot taller than you. Like 6'1?" James joked, desperately looking for something to say. "And you're what? 5'4?"

"5'5, actually." Regulus responded, quietly.

Both boys looked away as they felt the tension rebuilding in the room.

"So, do you come up here a lot?" James asked, trying to fill the silence.

"I guess. It makes me feel... less alone." Regulus admitted.

Before James could respond, the two boys heard the sound of a footstep in the hallways. He turned at Regulus and he stepped back, wearily.

"Come here!" James said, frantically. "Or you'll get caught."

"Why should I?" Regulus asked. "It's not as if you have a magic portal or an invisibility cloa-" he froze as James whipped out, yes, an invisibility cloak.
