The security guard opened the doors for Akshara as she stepped into the restaurant. The restaurant was dimly lit and as she walked towards the main dining area, she heard the strumming of cellos and violins. Live music? There was live music here?

As she walked further inward, alongside the antique plated walls, she chanced upon Abhimanyu standing there beside a table in the exact center of the restaurant. He looked dashing in his three piece suit and a bowtie, slicked back hair, and his pristine, shiny black loafers.

Everything about Abhimanyu Birla screamed power. Poise. But it also screamed danger. Trouble.

She felt as if she had just walked into the lions den.

The entire restaurant was eerily silent. There was not another patron other than Abhimanyu and her in sight. She glanced around nervously, but came across nothing but empty chairs and empty tables.

And in the middle of all the vacant seats stood Abhimanyu Birla, looking devilishly handsome. Her knight in shining armor —or rather three piece suit.

She already felt intoxicated by being in his presence and she hadn't even had a sip of wine yet.

She felt her legs giving out and her feet refusing to move as he left their table and made his way to her. His hands placed neatly on his sides, and not a hair out of place.

"Hi." The words felt like honey as they left his mouth.

Akshara felt her face flush. "Hi." She croaked, finally snapping back to reality and away from her fantasy land.

He gave her a huge grin. The man knew he was charming. And he had no regrets showing it. "Thanks for coming."

He brushed his lips softly against hers. Letting her know how exactly how grateful he was.

Akshara's eyes widened at that small act of his. That kiss hadn't been intimate, but yet it was enough to send shivers down her spine and awake the jitters in her belly.

"Thanks for inviting me." She whispered back, still awestruck.

Gentleman. He was a gentleman. But yet she felt something almost sinister lying underneath all that gentlemanliness of his.

Abhimanyu held out his arm for Akshara. Akshara linked her arm and gave him a confused yet impressed smile. Abhimanyu patted her hand which was resting on his bicep in response.

"Shall we?" Husky. His voice was very husky.

Too overwhelmed to speak, Akshara just nodded her head in response.

Abhimanyu walked Akshara to their table, holding out the chair for her. As Akshara sat down, he helped her push her chair in before taking his seat at the opposite end of the rectangular table.

"Abhimanyu, can I ask you a question?" She asked hesitantly.

He watched her intently for a few seconds before nodding his head. "Yes."

"Why are we the only ones here today? Where is everyone else?"

"I didn't want anyone else interrupting us. No pitter-patter of anyone else here to distract you from giving me your full attention." He stated simply as if the question she'd asked was purely nonsensical.

Before Akshara could respond, a young male server, his name tag reading Ved brought them a glass of wine for Akshara and a scotch on the rocks for Abhimanyu and set it down on the table.

"I actually don't drink. So if you could please get me a glass of water, that would be great."

"Of course Ma'am." Ved replied, giving Akshara a light smile.
