Chapter 23 - A Completed Map

Rey was awoken by the sudden jolt of the Falcon exiting hyperspace. Now rested, the throbbing pain in the back of her head subsided only slightly. She got up from her seat and walked to the cockpit, where out the window, she saw the Sentinel fleet in all its glory. Though it was unbeknownst to Moriiq, at this point, the fleet had performed a double lightspeed jump and were in relative safety.

"Wow. . ." She marveled.

On the bridge of the Loviate, the ship's communications system picked up Iseul's message and quickly transmitted it to the Altruist. This news quickly reached the bridge. Admiral Gawat, a white-haired human male wearing the typical Sentinel naval uniform. As soon as he received the news, he gave an order.

"Shut down the shields! Moriiq has returned!" He announced. "Bas'tah, notify the Grand General!"

Multiple people on the bridge cheered after hearing this, while some went to shut down the shield. Bas'tah then ran towards Leia's personal chambers. He knocked lightly, awaiting her answer. On the other side of the door, Leia sat at her table with her hand over her mouth, still stunned by what she sensed. Bas'tah knocked once more.

"Grand General? Finn's unit has returned."

Leia rose from her table now.

"I'll be right there." Leia said before wiping her face of any tears and opening the door.

Leia then proceeded to follow Bas'tah towards the hangar the Millennium Falcon was in. Once inside the hangar, multiple Sentinel personnel and pilots rushed to give the unit a hero's welcome. Many were shocked when they saw a gravely wounded Finn in the wookie's arms, who roared for people to get Finn medical attention immediately.

"What happened?!" Poe exclaimed as he looked at the unconscious Finn.

Chewbacca then told Dameron that Finn had been in a duel with Kylo Ren and lost. Poe couldn't say anything, as he knew the wookie had no answer that'd satisfy his growing concerns.

Another tall humanoid took Finn from Chewbacca and walked out of the hangar. Poe followed suit. Among this crowd of onlookers were Leia and Holdo, with Organa slowly walking towards the still distraught-looking Chewbacca. The two hugged one another, with Chewbacca's muffled crying being audible as he cried on Leia's shoulder.

"I know. . ." Leia consoled him.

Rey decided to follow behind the people who'd left with Finn. They made their way towards an elevator, which Rey managed to get inside just in time.

"Who are you?" One of the doctors asked Rey.

"I'm a friend of his. I want to know if he'll be alright." Rey introduced herself.

The doctor didn't respond, instead, he looked back ahead for the elevator doors to open.

"You're the one Finn wanted to save, aren't you?" Poe asked.

"Yeah."

"The name's Poe. Yours?" Poe introduced himself, holding out his hand.

"Rey." She shook his hand, smiling.

Poe made the same expression, before the two went back to waiting for the doors to open. Once they did, Rey and Poe followed the doctors as they made their way into a small casualty department. It had a window, where a cot was positioned right in front of it, machinery, a computer, and a deactivated 5-A surgical droid, a newer, upgraded successor to the 2-1B-series medical droid. This specific model had burnt sienna plating, with four sets of arms, two of which protruded from the machine's back, where a small set of surgical tools were located in a hatch on its back.
