"So who's the new Spanish coach?" Adelaide asks as we drive to Miami Freedom Park
Tonight's our first SheBelieves match and we play Canada.
The match before ours is Norway v Spain.
"Ingrid Oñate." I say then I show my wife a picture of the new Spain coach

In September of 2022, 16 Spanish players, including Mapi and Alexia Putellas among others, resigned from the national team due to the fact their manager Jorge Vilda was basically ruining Spain's golden generation and being a dictator during camps.
After those 16 players resigned, Spain lost every match of the October, November, and January international windows which forced the Spanish federation to fire Jorge Vilda and publicly beg the 16 players to come back to the team.
Those 16 players waited to see who the coach would be and once Ingrid Oñate was appointed they came back to the team.
"She's been the Spain under 19 manager since 2017." I say. "My friends from Barca say their happy with Ingrid and they're happy she's been legally guaranteed to be the manager until at least the 2025 Euros which are being held in Spain."
If Ingrid gets fired before the 2025 Euros then she gets paid a buttload of money.
"I can't believe the Spanish Federation thought sticking with the coach was the right choice." Adelaide says.
"Yeah they don't really care about the women's side of football." I say. "And they don't care about the black and brown players in their league."
"Did the fans racially abuse you?" My wife asks.
"Yeah." I say. "Abby and I were going to leave Barca after only one year because it got so bad."
"Where were you going to after your year at Barca?" Adelaide asks.
"Back to Lyon or to Arsenal."
"You also almost fought some fans who repeatedly said shit." Abby says as she passes tonight's line-up to us.
"I would have if you didn't calm me down." I say as I take line-up from my Baby Mama then Adelaide and I look at the line-up.

Even though Adelaide has my last name now, she's still just gonna have her first name on her jersey which I'm completely fine with.
She's been doing it for years and I don't want her to start using our last name on her jersey right before the world cup.
