Azura's POV

"Azura you're going semi-viral." Crystal says from her row of the bus in front of me.

"For what?" I ask.

"Your answer about religion after the Real Miami v Courage game a couple weeks a go." Crystal says.

"Oh." I say as I remember what Crystal is talking about.

Apparently there's some homophobic bigot on the North Carolina Courage who is looked on very favorably by christian nationalist media so a bunch of the christian nationalist media came to the game then at the post match press conference they kept asking me about religion and about a new abortion law

"What'd you say?" Mal asks then Crystal plays the video out loud.

"These comments might be strong, but it's how I genuinely feel.

Um, I don't care that you're a Christian. I don't care what the Bible says.

Like I feel like it's a clown show sitting here trying to decipher what your little mythical book has to say about these very real political issues.

I don't care if you're Christian.

In fact, I will fight for you to have your religious liberty and practice your Christianity.

I believe in that.

I don't believe in Christianity, which means that you do not get to dictate the way I live my life based on your religion.

I don't care what the Bible says.

You have every right in the world; all those women who identify with your religion have every right in the world to not get an abortion, to not take birth control, but they do not have the right to dictate my life and what I decide to do with my body or what my wife, sister, and daughter do with theirs.

I don't care about your goddamn religion.

I'm so tired of having non-stop conversations about what the Bible says.

You live your life in the way that you interpret the Bible.

Again, I don't care.

But you don't get to take the Bible and tell me well the Bible says this in this chapter in this verse.

I don't care...I don't care, I don't believe in it and I have the right based on our constitution to not believe in it." I say in the video.

"Why'd you go off like that?" Mal asks.

"Cause the one time I do a post match press conference, all the questions are about my views on christianity and I got fed up with it." I admit.

"Wasn't it like 40 questions they asked you about your views on christianity?" Emma asks.

"I lost count." I say. "But 40 sounds about right."

I don't understand why people care about my opinions on christianity.

"We're here." Cairo announces as we pull up to the extreme vehicle park here in Cincy.

The game against Sweden went fine and we won 3-1.

Now we're in Cincinnati and for our off day team bonding thing today, we're going to an off-road park and driving 4 person side by sides.

Once the bus stops, everyone gets off we get led over to what I assume is the owners side by side.

"Is that what we're riding in?" Crystal asks as she points to the the owners side by side.
