Azura's POV
"I still can't believe the Lions signed Lamar Jackson." I mumble as I look at a post on instagram about tonight's Thursday night football game which is the Lions v Bears.
"Heads up." Emma warns so I look up and see one of the local news stations camera crew and reporter coming over to myself and the team as we grab our bags from the bus.
"Record this." I mumble then I wait for the reporter to get to me.
"So Azura." The reporter says.
"Sure I can answer some questions." I sarcastically say which causes the interviewer to go red with embarrassment.
"You must be excited to be back in Your home town of Birmingham." The reporter says.
"I'm not." I say as I notice a lot of my teammates filming this interaction.
"You're not?" The reporter questions.
"This city took away my moms, my sister, my brother, and my innocence so frankly I fucking hate this city." I say. "The only thing I was excited to see was my old home and neighborhood."
"Ma'am no media are allowed back here." The team media liaison says then one of the members of our security team escorts the news crew away.
"Where we're you five minutes ago." I mumble then I grab my stuff and head to the home locker room here at Protective Stadium.
We play Austria tonight.
Once in the locker room, I look at the Line-up on the wall.

After I look at the line-up, I head to my locker then I put all my stuff in my locker.
Once my stuff is in my locker, I grab my rugby ball from my bag then my teammates and I head outside for the pitch inspection.
When I get on the pitch, Jucinara and I head to the closest end of the pitch then we walk up the pitch while passing a rugby ball back and forth as we talk about random shit.
After we make it to the farthest end of the pitch, Jucinara and I head back to the locker room with our teammates.
When I get to my locker I take my AirPods out, then I take out my nose ring, I take off my necklaces, earrings, bracelet, and my rings.
After my jewelry is off, I put my jewelry in it's safe then I put my jewelry safe, phone, and AirPods in my bag.
Once I'm jewelry free I take off my tracksuit and put my dark brown locs up in a ponytail then I put on my warm up top and my game shorts.
I then sit down in my locker and put on my socks, my shin pads and my green boots.
Once I'm dressed Jucinara comes over and sits in-between my legs.
"Hey Juicy Juice." I say.
"Hi Zura." Jucinara says as she hugs my leg then she sits up straight as I begin running my fingers through her long luscious curly hair.
After a minute of playing with my friend's hair, I pull it back into the normal ponytail she wears for games and trainings.
Once Jucinara's hair is in a ponytail, I lean down and kiss my friends head.
After I kiss her head, Jucinara and I get up, walk out of the locker room, and head onto the field with the outfield players.
When I get on the pitch I run through my warm ups with the starters for a while then we head back to the locker room.
Once in the locker room I change out of the training top then I look at my jersey.
For tonight's game, we're putting the names of role models on our jerseys.
I only know for certain who my close friends on the team have on their jersey.
I have Mana Shim's name on my jersey, Talia has Sinead Farrelly's name on her jersey, Emma has Kaiya McCullough's name on her jersey, and Jucinara has Christen Press' name on her jersey,
After I look at my jersey, I change into my white and red jersey while Cairo does her last minute talks.
When the last minute talks end, we are told to head to the tunnel so I kiss my soulmate and hug her before I head out to the tunnel
Once in the tunnel, I line-up in-between Emma and Jucinara then I wait for us to be called out.
Minutes later we are told to head out onto the field for the prematch stuff so I follow Emma and Talia out onto the field.
Once on the field we stand in line for the Austrian anthem then myself, all of the ladies in the starting XI, and most of the ladies on the bench kneel for our anthem.
When our anthem finishes, we stand up then we shake hands with the Austrian players.
After we shake hands, we take a starting XI picture, Talia does the coin toss, then we do our team huddle before we head onto the field.
Once I'm on the field, I look up to the box where my wife and the rest of the wives of us players are sitting.
"Hi Mistress." I see Adelaide sign.
Adelaide took sign language in college.
"Hi Baby." I sign back.
"I'm going to need some loving tonight." Adelaide signs.
"No problem my queen." I sign while smiling then I hear the whistle blow so I pay attention as the game kicks off.
Once the game kicks off, the time goes by at a snails pace, but like I expected we dominate Austria and at the end of the game, we come away with a 4-0 win.
After the game ends, I shake hands with the Austrian's and my teammates then I sign some stuff and take pictures with fans before I head to the locker room.
When I get to the locker room, I'm greeted by the sexiest woman alive.
"Zu Zu." Adelaide says with a big smile.
"Hey Lemonade." I say as I walk to my girl.
When I get to my wife, I wrap her in my arms and kiss the love of my life.
After we kiss, my wife plays with my locs
"I don't wanna come back to Birmingham ever again" I ask. "Nothing's left for me here."
"Then this'll be our last time here ever again." Adelaide says.
"Promise?" I vulnerably ask.
"Yeah Zu Zu." Adelaide says with a soft smile. "I promise."
