Azura's POV
"Watcha watchin?" I ask as my siblings and I wait in the the Wendy's drive through line.
We're back in America now and my family and I are now helping Atlas pack up before he heads off to college.
Right now my siblings and I are getting lunch for us and our ladies.
"A replay of your goal." Athena says then she leans forward so she, Atlas, and I can see her phone.
"I haven't heard the commentary yet." I mumble then Athena presses play.
"OH HERE COMES AZURAAAAAAA." The commentator dude loudly says as I run into the field of view then he holds my name out for a longtime as I shoot the ball and score. "OH YOU JUST CAN NOT WRITE A SCRIPT LIKE THIS."
I think that may be every commentators favorite saying.
"THE WOMAN WHO LOVES AFRICA, THE WOMAN WHO SPENT FOUR SUMMERS IN AFRICA, THE WOMAN WHO WAS FORGED IN AFRICA HAS JUST WON THE WORLD CUP FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."
"Okay that's kinda cool." I say then the car in front of me pulls away so I move up to the window.
Once at the window, I pay for our food, then we're given our food.
After we have all the food, I drive away from the Wendy's and head back home.
"It seems like Cairo likes you." Athena says as I drive back home.
"What'd she say?" I ask.
"Cairo said that having a player like Azura Nwigwe on the team is massively important because not only does she organize the whole team, but her energy rubs off on her teammates on the pitch and allows everyone to have fun and play football like they're kids again." Athena reads off her phone. "You should probably watch the interview to hear what she said in it's entirety."
"I will." I say.
"Are you gonna retire?" Atlas randomly asks. "I saw the papers on the kitchen counter."
"Those are Adelaide's Atlas." I say.
"Oh." Atlas says.
"She's gotta send them in before we take you to OU." I say as we pull into our neighborhood.
Once in our neighborhood I punch in the gate code, then, once the gate opens, I drive into the neighborhood and head to our home.
"I hope Mr Walters doesn't get bored in there." Athena says as she looks at the closing gate behind us.
Mr. Walters is an elderly dude who lives in the community and he's the daytime gate guard for the gated community we live in.
His wife works as a librarian at Barack Obama Middle school so to kill time Mr. Walters decide to volunteer to work in the guard station during the day.
"I'm sure he spends his time in the air conditioned guard station wisely." I say. "Especially when you and Nova bring him his weekly cookie."
When we first moved in to the gated community, Athena was worried that Mr. Walters was bored in the guard station so she brought him a cookie and a lemonade and now they, along with Nova, have a cookie and lemonade date every Wednesday around 4.
"I still don't know what he does." Atlas says.
"He checks all of the delivery drivers to make sure their legit and confirms wether any of the people living in the neighborhood are expecting visitors." I say. "That's why before we get any visitors I always call down to the guard station and tell them we're expecting people."
