Lan Wangji was on duty when he received an alert about a blizzard. He was an army officer and had been posted on a snow covered border for a long time. Lan Wangji and his team members were experienced to withstand blizzards. They only needed a prior alert to get prepared. During his stay in that snowy mountain he experienced several snowstorms and blizzards. There were no causalities or any major injuries to any one of his team members in past years. Lan Wangji informed his team members about the situation and he was certain that everything would be fine for them.

He was only worried about the research team which had reached only a couple of days earlier and camped in that area. He was not sure if they had any experience of blizzards or not. Lan Wangji sent two of his sub-ordinates to inform the research team about the upcoming blizzard.

Wei Wuxian was one of the researchers who were there. He was desperate and daring. The head of the research team had warned everyone not to go anywhere alone and without caution. But Wei Wuxian was not the obedient one; he liked to do everything according to his own free will. When the army men were there to inform about the bad weather, Wei Wuxian had long gone without informing anyone about his destination.

"I don't know what I would do with that boy." Prof. Jiang Fengmian was visibly frustrated. Wei Wuxian was one of his favorite students and he loved him like his own son. But that Wei Wuxian had no sense of responsibility and loved to cause trouble.

Jiang Fengmian's own son Jiang Cheng was with that team and shared a tent with Wei Wuxian. He was furious as Wei Wuxian did not take him along.

"I am going to find him. But dad, I am telling you I would break his legs as soon as I get my hands on him," Jiang Cheng declared.

Dr. Jiang Yanli, the elder sister of Jiang Cheng who was a senior researcher in their team said, "You don't have to be violent, I have my ways to punish him."

"Jiejie, you are always soft towards him," complained Jiang Cheng. "He does not deserve your care."

"We can discuss about his punishment later," Prof. Jiang said. "Now go, make small groups to find him."

"Yes, don't go alone anywhere," said Jiang Yanli. "Remember you all must come back before the blizzard comes even if you don't find him."

Lan Wangji got the report that one of the researchers was not in the camp and others went to find him. The problem was that no one knew in which direction they should search. Lan Wangji ordered his subordinates to stay prepared to go for search operation anytime. One hour later he contacted Prof Jiang to know the situation there.

"Officer, my juniors could not find him till now," said the professor. "I asked them to come back to the camp. I can't afford to take any risk about their lives. That Wei Wuxian is born to create trouble. I don't know how I would face his parents after I go to the underworld."

Lan Wangji held his breath and asked, "Professor, can you send me his photograph and other details? We would start the search operation then."

"Sure," replied the professor.

Lan Wangji was looking at the photograph sent by Prof. Fengmian. It was really him. It was really that person who broke Lan Wangji's heart years ago. Lan Wangji was on that deserted snowy mountain for last three years and never went back to his home only for that person. Wei Wuxian had not cared for him when he needed him the most. But Lan Wangji still had feelings for that man; he would do everything possible to save Wei Wuxian.

All the members of the research team were in a safe place when the blizzard started. Lan Wangji and his team kept searching for Wei Wuxian. When they finally found him, Wei Wuxian was unconscious and his body was freezing cold.
