POV: Kelly
I got home just after 10:30am and I texted Cynthia after I found her 3 missed calls. She called me as soon as I put my phone down.
"Hey Cyn, how..."
"Girl, tell me everything. How was your night with Mr Gorgeous?"
"You're not mad?" I asked surprised.
"Over what? I saw how much fun you were having and that was the point of me dragging your reclusive behind out in the first place. So tell me everything."
"Oh my gosh. It was amazing. He even made me pancakes this morning."
"You must have given it to him good." She said and I gasped making her laugh. "I mean that's so cute, but I want details. Come by the coffee shop today and we can chat then, okay?"
"Okay, I'll see you later." I chuckled.
I needed to find a way to fix this or get out of this date. What is this going to turn into? I'm not the type you date. I'm not the get-to-know-you type. No one gets to know me. Since he's with the FBI, I am going to bet he will get curious and do a background check on me.
I'm not worried about that because my identity as Kelly is pretty rock solid. I'm worried about falling for him and him spending too much time with me that he picks up on something. I'm guessing he's not an idiot.
I paced around the house for a bit going over different scenarios. I'm now debating whether or not I should call my handler. We agreed I would call only in case of an emergency. I doubt my dating life constitutes an emergency but he's with the FBI so that's an emergency of sorts.
I needed to make a decision quickly. I did not move to the suburbs away from my life to slip up because of a man. I have worked too damn hard and sacrificed a lot for this new lease on life in suburbia.
I'll wait to see how this first date goes and I'll make my decision then. For now Cynthia's vanilla cupcakes are my only concern and definitely her itching ears.
I changed into a floral maxi dress and sandals and made my way to the coffee shop. It was a little after 2pm when I got to the coffee shop much to Cynthia's excitement. She squealed when she saw me, gave me hug before reaching over the counter and revealing a vanilla cupcake with a cheeky smile. I laughed at the bribery attempt.
"And then what happened next?" She was too excited to hear about my evening with Sam.
"Well, he made me feel things that were out of this world. I am going to spare you the gory details but let's just say that man definitely knows his way around pleasing a woman."
"If I didn't get laid as well last night, I would be so jealous, but don't spare me the glorious details. Tell me everything." She said and we burst out laughing catching the attention of a few tables around us.
"No way. Okay, maybe a few details. He can do things with his tongue and he is packing." I divulged and we laughed again. I told her that she gets no more information and she faked hurt by pouting. Boundaries girl, although I feel like what I told her crossed a mild boundary.
"He asked me out on a proper date." I said nervously.
"That's amazing. Where is he taking you?"
"I don't know yet. He said he'll call or text and let me know."
"Are you nervous?" She asked.
"Maybe a little. I don't date much, so I'm just overthinking it." I said to avoid telling her the real reason why dating Sam is inducing my anxiety. I did tell her that he works for the FBI.
